In recent years its medical implications have brought loneliness to the centre of attention of mass media, government agents, and the general public. However, as this volume demonstrates, loneliness is not merely a psychological, individual, or health issue. In multiple ways, it is a serious social problem as well. Yang urges fellow researchers and scientists to broaden the existing definition and classification of loneliness, to measure loneliness with greater accuracy, and to establish more specifically the connection between loneliness and particular illness. Drawing on vast sources of data including literary works, case studies, and large-scale sample surveys covering a broad spectrum of countries (Europe and beyond), the empirical research of this study produces and presents simple but effective evidence for the social nature and variations of loneliness. Examining loneliness at higher levels, including ethnic groups, classes, national cultures, and societies, Loneliness will appeal to students and researchers interested in areas such as sociology, pyschology, and mental health.

Donald stresses the importance of discerning the season you are in, listening attentively for the message that God desires to convey to you, and obeying the specific instructions for what lies ahead once the season is over.

Being a queer couple, Dutch TV presenter and editor-in-chief Mandy Woelkens, and internationally known actor Thorn de Vries, get an awful lot of questions about gender: from parents who see their kids struggle with their identity, to media who want to use the right pronouns but don't know how to do so. From companies that want to be more inclusive but lack knowledge, to people whose social circle includes someone who is non-binary. And last but not least, they get a lot of questions from people who are discovering their sexuality and gender identity themselves. In 'FAQ Gender', Mandy and Thorn use their personal experiences to answer all those frequently asked questions. How do you know if you're non-binary? How do you react when someone misgenders you? How do you know which pronouns suit you? This book is a perfect read for anyone who is non-binary, and for everyone who wants to know more about gender and wants to be a respectful ally to non-binary people. 'Our soul can get lost if we don't know who we truly are. This book is written out of love for a new start.' - Vanessa Van Cartier

Character And Greatness Of Winston Churchill written by Stephen Mansfield and has been published by Turner Publishing Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004-09-01 with Biography & Autobiography categories.
Winston Churchill was one of the most extraordinary leaders of the twentieth century. What enabled him to stand so steadfastly when all those around him seemed to turn back in fear? What enabled him to inspire whole nations to endure the unendurable and to achieve the unachievable when all those around him had already surrendered all hope? The Character and Greatness of Winston Churchill is a remarkable study of Churchill's leadership skill and answers these questions and more. The result is an account that is no less inspiring today than it was three-quarters of a century ago when the great man's shadow fell large across the world stage. According to Henry Kissinger, "Our age finds it difficult to come to grips with Churchill. The political leaders with whom we are familiar generally aspire to be superstars rather than heroes. The distinction is crucial. Superstars strive for approbation; heroes walk alone. Superstars crave consensus; heroes define themselves by the ... future they see it as their task to bring about. Superstars seek success as a technique for eliciting support; heroes pursue success as the outgrowth of their inner values." Winston Churchill was a hero.

Hemingway On Love written by Robert W. Lewis and has been published by University of Texas Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1965 with Literary Criticism categories.
Love was a central theme of Ernest Hemingway’s major works. And although his passages on sexual love and on romantic love may be widely remembered and frequently quoted, says Robert W. Lewis in this scholarly and detailed consideration, Hemingway’s later work revealed his ultimate belief that brotherly love was the supreme love of mankind. Eros, Hemingway concluded, was a neutral value, neither good nor bad in itself, but yet capable of complementing agape in giving man pleasure. By examining the forms and essences of the various kinds of love, Hemingway worked out an explanation and tentative solution to the troubles of the human condition. The tradition of romantic love that had prevailed in Western literature had challenged sexual love and brotherly love and had been confused with them since the Middle Ages. Hemingway’s early work was destructive of romantic love, says Lewis; the work of his middle career was crucial in his exploration for the supreme love and the means to whatever peace and happiness man may achieve. By the time he wrote The Old Man and the Sea, his ethic was formulated and he could write conclusively of the trial and lesson of love in Western civilization in a way that reflected his discovery that true love must be a reciprocal blend of eros and agape between man and woman, man and man, and man and his world.
