MATLAB for Engineering Applications is a simple, concise book designed to be useful for beginners and to be kept as a reference. MATLAB is a globally available standard computational tool for engineers and scientists. The terminology, syntax, and the use of the programming language are well defined, and the organization of the material makes it easy to locate information and navigate through the textbook. The text covers all the major capabilities of MATLAB that are useful for beginning students. The text consists of 11 chapters. The first five chapters constitute a basic course in MATLAB. The remaining six chapters are independent of each other and cover more advanced applications of MATLAB, the Control Systems tool- box, Simulink, and the Symbolic Math toolbox.

MATLAB refers to a multi-paradigm programming language and numeric computing environment. It permits implementation of algorithms, plotting of functions and data, matrix manipulations, formation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages. It is a tool which allows the user to program, compute, and visualize the results graphically. It is mainly designed for numerical computation. It is an optional toolbox that utilizes the MuPAD symbolic engine that provides access to symbolic computing capabilities. MATLAB is widely used within various fields such as economics, engineering, and science. It can be used to simulate diverse electrical networks. Modern developments in the MATLAB has also made it a very competitive tool for wireless communication, data analytics, image processing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics. This book contains some path-breaking studies outlining the engineering applications of MATLAB. It will serve as a reference to a broad spectrum of readers.

Metaheuristic Computation With Matlab written by Erik Cuevas and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-09-14 with Computers categories.
Metaheuristic algorithms are considered as generic optimization tools that can solve very complex problems characterized by having very large search spaces. Metaheuristic methods reduce the effective size of the search space through the use of effective search strategies. Book Features: Provides a unified view of the most popular metaheuristic methods currently in use Includes the necessary concepts to enable readers to implement and modify already known metaheuristic methods to solve problems Covers design aspects and implementation in MATLAB® Contains numerous examples of problems and solutions that demonstrate the power of these methods of optimization The material has been written from a teaching perspective and, for this reason, this book is primarily intended for undergraduate and postgraduate students of artificial intelligence, metaheuristic methods, and/or evolutionary computation. The objective is to bridge the gap between metaheuristic techniques and complex optimization problems that profit from the convenient properties of metaheuristic approaches. Therefore, engineer practitioners who are not familiar with metaheuristic computation will appreciate that the techniques discussed are beyond simple theoretical tools, since they have been adapted to solve significant problems that commonly arise in such areas.

Matlab For Photomechanics A Primer written by A. Asundi and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2002-12-10 with Technology & Engineering categories.
The term "photomechanics" describes a suite of experimental techniques which use optics (photo) for studying problems in mechanics. The field has been in existence for some time, but has always lagged behind other experimental and numerical techniques. The main reason for this is that the interpretation of data, which whilst providing whole-field visualization, is not in a form readily amenable to the end-user. Digital image processing has become common within the photomechanics community. However, one approach does not fit all, and subtle variations in technique and method have been developed by different groups working on specific applications. This primer enables the user to get started with their experimental analysis quickly. It is based on the universally popular MATLAB® software, which includes dedicated and optimized functions for a variety of image processing tasks. These can readily scripted, along with the necessary mathematical expressions, for particular experimental techniques. The book provides an introduction to some of the optical techniques, and then introduces MATLAB® routines specific to the image processing in experimental mechanics. There are also case studies on particular techniques. As part of the book, a collection of M-files is provided on CD-ROM, which also contains example images and test code. This provides a starting point for the user, who can then easily add or edit statements or function for their own images.MATLAB® is a registered trademark of The MathWorks, Inc.
