When a person becomes born again or is born of the Spirit, they are in the family of God. You are a child of the Most High God—a child of the king! You become a citizen of the kingdom of God. The kingdom is not a place you can join; you must be born into it. Just as a natural father seeds a newborn in a mother's natural life, so it is in the Spirit that we are the seed of our Heavenly Father, who is Spirit. Your flesh is not born again; your Spirit and soul are. This fleshly body is destined to die once; after death is the judgment. The power of being born again is that we get to judge ourselves when we are filled with God's Spirit; it doesn't matter what people think about us. Here are a few to know as a new Believer: Repenting for your sins means acknowledging your sinful nature and avoiding harmful behaviors and attitudes. Decide to change and make Jesus the Lord of your life. Believe in Jesus Christ— Accept that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins and rose again from the dead. Have faith that you can be forgiven and have eternal life through his sacrifice. Confess your faith— Openly declare your belief in Jesus by saying, "I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead. Be baptized—Baptizing by immersion symbolizes your death to sin and new life in Christ. It is an outward expression of your inner commitment. Read and study the Bible— The Bible guides living as a Christian. Set aside time to read it daily and apply its teaching. Worship and fellowship—Find a Bible-Believing Church and attend services to worship God and connect with other believers. Fellowship helps you grow spiritually, and you should never forget to serve others. Pray—Talk to God regularly to develop a consistent prayer life. Pray for guidance and strength, and share the gospel. Witness to others— Tell others about your faith in Jesus, what he has done in your faith in Jesus, and what he has done in your life. Share the good news of salvation and the kingdom. Born Again Now What? Being born again refers to a spiritual transformation and regeneration that occurs when someone accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. When we experience spiritual rebirth, we inherit God's spiritual nature. It is a spiritual rebirth that involves turning away from sinful behaviors and attitudes and dedicating one's life to following Jesus. This comes from John 3:3, where Jesus tells Nicodemus, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." To be born again means to receive God's grace and forgiveness through faith in Christ. It is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that gives a person a new heart, mind, and spirit. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you may experience people misunderstanding you, turning against you, or even hating you. This is because you now belong to a different kingdom - the kingdom of God. Previously, you belonged to the same kingdom as those people, but now you have a spiritual birthmark given to you by God that the devil recognizes. Regardless of age, gender, race, or economic status, if you encounter God and give your life to Christ, you may notice people treating you differently the next day. They may begin to distance themselves from you simply because you are now a different person spiritually. This is why, as a born-again Christian, it may be hard to fit in with others who have not had this experience. It's like two different worlds colliding. Being born again means that you are no longer under Satan's dominion, and he has no legal right to you. Sin gives him power over your life. Therefore, if you live in sin, you are essentially putting Satan in the position of God in your life. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and our power! As believers, we have allowed the enemy in disguise to reduce our faith to a mere religion, forgetting that Jesus came to expose and destroy the works of the devil. Jesus did not come to this world to start a new religion; this is a great deception from the enemy. He came to restore us to our original place as sons and daughters of the Most High God. Remember, Satan was called "the prince of this world," but Jesus is the King of everything. Let us not forget that we are kings and priests, empowered to live a life of purpose and fulfillment. So, let us focus on the true meaning of Jesus' message and strive to live our lives according to His teachings. Jesus said, "I came that you may have life and live it to the full." Some key aspects of being born again include: Repentance- turning away from sin and seeking God's forgiveness Faith in Jesus-believing that Jesus died for your sins and rose again New life in Christ-Experiencing spiritual rebirth and a new relationship with God Seeking to follow Jesus- Living for Christ and His purposes rather than self. Eternal life- Knowing you have the gift of salvation and will spend eternity with God In summary, being born again involves a dramatic change of heart and mind that results in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It marks the beginning of a new life lived for God's glory. He came unto his own, and his own didn't receive him. But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons and daughters of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God.
