When a person becomes born again or is born of the Spirit, they are in the family of God. You are a child of the Most High God-a child of the king! You become a citizen of the kingdom of God. He was curious as to how one can be a part of the kingdom and Jesus said in verse three. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" John 3:3 "Jesus answered him, I assure you most solemnly I tell you, that unless a person is born again (anew, from above), he cannot ever see (know, be acquainted with, and experience) the kingdom of God.' AMP The man must have looked at Jesus to confirm if he was in his right senses for he wondered how an adult would enter into his mother's stomach and be born again and Jesus told him "Except a man be born of the water and the spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." so we can see that this goes beyond physical birth, this is the work of the spirit of Christ. Many of us who were born into Christian homes automatically believe we are born again or part of the house hold of faith, God forbid that at the end, Jesus tells us to depart because he does not know us. Being part of a Christian home or being part of a church does not equal being born again. You may know a lot about Jesus and God of the Christians, you may even know some verses in the bible and be able to quote them well, you may be able to say a thing or two about Jesus but then do you know him personally. You may say you know the president of your country, you might be able to say a lot of things about him but then the level of knowledge you have cannot be compared to what his wife will say. The wife knows him better, she sleeps with him and shares intimacy with him, and he will tell her things he is too careful not to tell the world, she knows his strengths and his fears. She knows when he is pretending to be okay and smiling when he is dying in silence. Now that is a level, and God desires that, intimacy with God and a relationship with him is the end to which Christ died so that when you die you can share eternity with him in heaven. So it's not about knowing about Jesus, it is about Jesus knowing you. Do you want to make heaven and be part of the kingdom Jesus talked about? Then you must be born again for that is the access, the key to the kingdom that is what entitles you to all that pertains to life and godliness. The son of a prince does not beg for the throne, he knows the throne is his by birth, same thing goes, we are the King's kid and because we are born of God, we have all He has. "But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Born Again Now What? Being born again refers to a spiritual transformation and regeneration that occurs when someone accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. When we experience spiritual rebirth, we inherit God's spiritual nature. It is a spiritual rebirth that involves turning away from sinful behaviors and attitudes and dedicating one's life to following Jesus. This comes from John 3:3, where Jesus tells Nicodemus, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." To be born again means to receive God's grace and forgiveness through faith in Christ. It is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that gives a person a new heart, mind, and spirit. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you may experience people misunderstanding you, turning against you, or even hating you. This is because you now belong to a different kingdom - the kingdom of God. Previously, you belonged to the same kingdom as those people, but now you have a spiritual birthmark given to you by God that the devil recognizes. Regardless of age, gender, race, or economic status, if you encounter God and give your life to Christ, you may notice people treating you differently the next day. They may begin to distance themselves from you simply because you are now a different person spiritually. This is why, as a born-again Christian, it may be hard to fit in with others who have not had this experience. It's like two different worlds colliding. Being born again means that you are no longer under Satan's dominion, and he has no legal right to you. Sin gives him power over your life. Therefore, if you live in sin, you are essentially putting Satan in the position of God in your life. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and our power! As believers, we have allowed the enemy in disguise to reduce our faith to a mere religion, forgetting that Jesus came to expose and destroy the works of the devil. Jesus did not come to this world to start a new religion; this is a great deception from the enemy. He came to restore us to our original place as sons and daughters of the Most High God. Remember, Satan was called "the prince of this world," but Jesus is the King of everything. Let us not forget that we are kings and priests, empowered to live a life of purpose and fulfillment. So, let us focus on the true meaning of Jesus' message and strive to live our lives according to His teachings. Jesus said, "I came that you may have life and live it to the full." Some key aspects of being born again include: Repentance- turning away from sin and seeking God's forgiveness Faith in Jesus-believing that Jesus died for your sins and rose again New life in Christ-Experiencing spiritual rebirth and a new relationship with God Seeking to follow Jesus- Living for Christ and His purposes rather than self.
