England 1469. Elizabeth Hardacre loves her father, a friend and ally of the Earl of Warwick, the most powerful man in England. When the Earl of Warwick's messenger informs her that her father is suspected of treason, Elizabeth's life changes dramatically, as it soon becomes apparent that it is not her father but the Earl of Warwick who has broken with King Edward IV, the man he put on the throne. The Wars of the Roses has begun again. Held as a hostage to ensure her father's compliance with the Earl of Warwick's wishes, Elizabeth becomes involved in a battle of her own: to obtain her father's freedom, even though this means taking the life of a man whose greatest sin is to love her. Unable to seek absolution for her crime, Elizabeth convinces herself that she is beyond redemption and adds sin on sin. But just when she believes that she can once again taste happiness, her trust is betrayed and she seeks a terrible revenge for that betrayal, one that will determine who holds the throne of England.

The fact that most ancient marble portraits were once intentionally polychrome has always been lurking at the corners of art historical and archaeological research. Despite the fact, that the colours of the sculpted forms completed, enhanced and even extended the plastic shapes, the topic has not been devoted much dedicated attention. This book represents the first full-length academic monograph which explores the original polychromy of Roman white marble portraiture. It presents results from scientific analysis of portraits in statuary and bust formats dating to the first three centuries CE. The book also explores the cultural and social significance of colours in their original contexts, and how the immaterial affects of the polychrome, three-dimensional images can be integrated into the traditional research into ancient portraiture, which has tended to place overwhelming emphasis on iconography, typology and biography. By doing so the ancient sculpted marble form, as we know it, will be exposed and confronted, and the impact of manipulated material effects, that were meant to evoke a broad range of multisensory experiences, will be emphasized. The book puts forth a new way of analysis to be tested and developed in the future.

The Young Readers' edition of the bestselling adult non-fiction title Many critics believe Adam Gilchrist is the greatest wicketkeeper/batsman to have played the game, but Adam's huge popularity does not rest solely on his incredible track record. To his millions of fans around the world, it is the way he plays the game - rather than simply the sum of his achievements - that marks him out as one of the best-loved cricketers of his generation. He is both a swashbuckling batsman and record-breaking wicketkeeper, yet perhaps his true impact has come from the manner in which he plays his cricket - with an integrity and sense of values that many thought had departed the game forever. True Colours is his autobiography, and like the man himself it's incomparable. With unflinching honesty, intelligence, compassion and humour, Adam takes you into the world of cricket that few outside of the Australian team have ever seen. From his early struggles to establish himself, through to the giant achievements of the Australian test and one-day sides, True Colours offers an extraordinary window on Adam, on cricket's major stars and on the game itself.
