When seeking to understand Christian love with some precision, we inevitably come to speak about order in loving. The title of this book, Love's Sacred Order, is intended to address the problem of the need for clarification in the matter of love, above all the question of the relationship among the different kinds of love, all of which make their legitimate claim on us. A central concern of these reflections is the fact that we can do as much harm to ourselves by being too restrictive as by being too permissive in what we allow to come under the heading of Christian love. The main intent of these meditations is to explore what the hierarchy might be that God established among all our human loves, on the one hand, and between these and the gratuitously revealed love of God that uncreated mystery, "kept secret for long ages", to which we could not have had access if God himself had not taken the initiative to manifest it in Christ Jesus. The author approaches this subject pondering and responding to issues raised in the widely known work of C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves, of which the year 2000 marks the fortieth anniversary of publication. This volume, then, is offered as a modest contribution to our celebration of this year of the Great Jubilee of our redemption, as well as an homage to the great Christian writer.

The true story of the Three Wise Men of the Christmas Nativity Story has remained a secret for over two thousand years. The Three Wise Men are the founder members of the very Sacred Order of the Magi. The Order has survived for two thousand years much the same as the Ancient Orders of Stonemasons and the Knights Templar. Unlike those orders, however, it has remained a secret until now. Members of the Sacred Order of the Magi have worked on their own or in small groups, with some members never knowing others. For certain families, it was a dynasty that encompassed some but not all family members. The vow that all members of the Sacred Order of the Magi take is to uphold in their hearts and souls the truth of Jesus' mission. Why was the order kept a secret? Why is the story of the Three Wise Men and their Sacred Order being disclosed now? You will read how the Three Wise Men of love and light with unrelenting integrity, bravery, and overwhelming sadness discover the role they are to play in Jesus' destiny. For his sake and safety and for the salvation of our planet, the Sacred Order of the Magi went undercover and became the Spiritual Security Service. Now is the time to reveal its existence. Now is the time to disclose many sacred truths. It was ordained to be so. Now is the time of the second coming of Jesus, or Yeshua Ben Joseph, as he was known to the Magi. The story of The Three Wise Men is not solely for Christmas; it is for all time.

The Palgrave Handbook of Mimetic Theory and Religion draws on the expertise of leading scholars and thinkers to explore the violent origins of culture, the meaning of ritual, and the conjunction of theology and anthropology, as well as secularization, science, and terrorism. Authors assess the contributions of René Girard’s mimetic theory to our understanding of sacrifice, ancient tragedy, and post-modernity, and apply its insights to religious cinema and the global economy. This handbook serves as introduction and guide to a theory of religion and human behavior that has established itself as fertile terrain for scholarly research and intellectual reflection.

Broken families, abortion, AIDS, Internet pornography, sexual abuse scandals, homosexual marriage, our Church and our world are in the midst of a profound sexual crisis. Is there a way out? For such a time as this have we been given Blessed John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. Based on the words of Jesus, Blessed John Paul II’s famous reflections on the body and sex take us to the root of the modern crisis and chart the path to an authentic sexual liberation. Yet the late Pope’s dense scholarship often intimidates the average person. In his previous book, Theology of the Body Explained, Christopher West offered a more detailed, six-hundred page commentary on Blessed John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. Here, West provides a short and popular summary of the Pope’s revolutionary teaching: ● What is the meaning of life? ● Why did God create us male and female? ● Why is there evil in the world and how do we overcome it? ● How do we attain true happiness on earth? ● What kind of joys await us in heaven? ● How can we experience the love we long for in the depth of our hearts? The first edition of Theology of the Body for Beginners (2004) quickly became an international best-seller. This freshly revised and expanded edition is based on Dr. Michael Waldstein’s much improved translation of John Paul II's catechesis. New for this edition: ● All quotations have been updated with the new translation ● Key insights discovered through Dr. Waldstein’s access to the John Paul II archives have been incorporated ● The outline of the text has been substantially reorganized to reflect the newly discovered outline of Blessed John Paul II’s original manuscript ● Blessed John Paul II’s “hidden” and previously untranslated addresses are summarized

Simply Bonaventure 2nd Edition written by Ilia Delio and has been published by New City Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

“Simply Bonaventure may very well become the standard English introduction to Bonaventure’s thought for college and graduate school teachers and students.” Joseph P. Chinnici, OFM Professor of Church History Franciscan School of Theology Graduate Theological Union Berkeley, California. Simply Bonaventure provides an introduction to the life, thought and writings of the medieval Franciscan, Bonaventure of Bagnoregio. The majority of the work is devoted to Bonaventure’s theology, which is summarized according to his own metaphysical scheme of origin (God), purpose (creation), and destiny (goal of creation). His trinitarian, Christocentric theology is highly relevant to a global world and to the postmodern Christian experience. Sr. Delio’s work is the first to provide a comprehensive view of Bonaventure’s theology, together with an introduction to his life and writings, and to place his theology in dialogue with contemporary human experience. “With this book Ilia Delio has provided a long needed introduction to Bonaventure’s thought. But she has done more than merely open the door to Bonaventure’s world. Because of the depth of her own mature scholarly and spiritual insight, her book can enrich not only beginners but seasoned Bonaventure scholars as well.” Ewert Cousins Editor and Translator of the Bonaventure volume in The Classics of Western Spirituality “Ilia Delio's work combines the adroit use of primary sources, the best of critical commentaries on Bonaventure's thought, and contemporary questions to take the reader on an exciting journey into the heart of one of the medieval period's most dynamic Franciscan thinkers.” Joseph P. Chinnici, O.F.M. “This fine book is deeply rooted in the very best scholarship yet presented in a gentle spirit and un-intimidating style. Those who study it carefully will gain not only a renewed appreciation of a truly great theologian and saint, but also an admiration for the loving way in which Delio has treated his spiritual vision. I strongly recommend this work to anyone interested in the very best spiritual writing.” John F. Haught Professor of Theology Georgetown University
