Psychologists have long known that every person has two great longings and inward needs. The first is to be loved, and the second is to love. But when pressures and heartaches come into our lives, many give up any hope of ever finding love. The tragedy is that we often look in the wrong places to fill this deep, deep need and longing. Some substitute lust for love. Others pursue material things or superficial relationships-all in the futile attempt to fill a God-shaped vacuum in the human heart. But there is good news! There is a love worth finding and a love worth sharing. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). On the cross of Christ, God's mighty love was revealed and offered unconditionally to all who would be saved. Do you long to know this mighty love? Then I need to ask you the most important question you'll ever be asked: Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God loves you, that your sins are forgiven, and that you are saved and on your way to heaven? The great news is, you can know! Let me share with you how to discover the greatest love worth finding. Admit Your Sin. First, you must admit that you are a sinner. The Bible says, "There is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). It is our sin that separates us from God and from fulfilling our deepest needs and longings. Sin is an offense against God that carries a serious penalty. According to Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death [eternal separation from the love and mercy of God]." Abandon Your Efforts. Second, you must abandon any efforts to save yourself. If we could save ourselves, Jesus' death would have been unnecessary! Even "getting religion" cannot get you to heaven. The Bible says it is "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His [God's] mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5). Salvation is by God's grace, "not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). Acknowledge Christ's Payment. What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). He died on the cross for you, and then rose from the dead to prove that His payment was acceptable to God. But you must acknowledge and believe this fact. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31). Accept Christ as Your Savior. Salvation is God's gift to you. "The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest thing you can do is accept it! This very moment, you can receive Christ's gift of salvation by sincerely praying this simple prayer from your heart: Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that You love me and want to save me. Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, who died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised You from the dead. I now turn from my sin and, by faith, receive You as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus. In Your name I pray. Amen. Friend, if you have not yet made a decision for Christ, I urge you to receive Him today. You'll be eternally glad to know the love worth finding!

Abandone Sus Propios Esfuerzos--Usted debe abandonar todo esfuerzo de tratar de salvarse a sI mismo. Si pudiEramos salvarnos a nosotros mismos, la muerte de JesUs habrIa sido en vano! Inclusive "el comportarse religiosamente" no lo puede salvar. La Biblia dice que "nos salvO (Dios), no por obras de justicia que nosotros hubiEramos hecho, sino por su misericordia" (Tito 3:5). La salvaciOn es por la gracia de Dios, "no por obras, para que nadie se glorIe" (Efesios 2:8-9). Admita el Sacrificio de Cristo--Lo que usted no puede hacer por sI mismo, Jesucristo lo ha hecho por usted! "Mas Dios muestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aUn pecadores, Cristo muriO por nosotros" (Romanos 5:8). El muriO en la cruz por usted, y resucitO de entre los muertos para demostrar que su sacrificio o pago fue aceptado por Dios. Mas usted debe reconocer y creer en este hecho. "Cree en el SeNor Jesucristo, y serAs salvo" (Hechos 16:31). Acepte a Jesucristo como Su Salvador--La salvaciOn es el regalo de Dios para usted. "La dAdiva de Dios es vida eterna en Cristo JesUs SeNor nuestro" (Romanos 6:23). Cuando alguien le ofrece un regalo invaluable, lo mAs sabio de su parte es aceptarlo! "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 8:12 If there is one truth that leaps out at us from the pages of Scripture at Christmas, it is this: Jesus came to be the Light of the world! Light came into this dark world when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Christmas is about light! We love to sing the Christmas carol, "Silent Night." But this great hymn is not about night or darkness. It's about the Light. The third stanza of "Silent Night" says, "Son of God, love's pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace." We sing another Christmas carol, "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." The last stanza invites us to "Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings." We sing at Christmas because we have something to sing about! Light has come into the world, and we don't ever need to walk in darkness again! Are you walking in spiritual darkness today? Recognize that you are a sinner, that you can do nothing to save yourself, and ask Jesus, the Light of the World, to come and be Lord and Savior of your life. The good news is that if you look to Him, He will shine His light into your heart! The Babe of Bethlehem is the Light of the world. He will remove your spiritual darkness with the glory of His wonderful presence if you will only ask Him. Pray something like this: Dear God, I know I am a sinner and desperately in need of Your forgiveness of my sins. I need the light of Your love to shine through my spiritual darkness. I understand that I can only receive this forgiveness through the Babe of Bethlehem, your Son, Jesus Christ, who died for my sins and rose from the dead that I might spend all of eternity with You in heaven. Right now I ask Jesus into my life to be my Savior and Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. About the Painting Thomas Kinkade, the "Painter of Light," is a committed Christian and uses his art to point to the Author of Light-Jesus Christ. In his painting Stonehearth Hutch Kinkade uses the familiar symbols of wreath and tree to herald the coming of Christmas Day. He also uses other symbols to express the spirit of the season. Jesus Christ gave His life so that we would know His Father's love forever. There is no sin that we will ever commit that has not been paid for by Christ's death. Nothing can separate us from His love. Why not get off the roller coaster today? Only God's love can give you the security you're really looking for. His unchanging love can free you to be all you're meant to be. You can be sure of God's love if you will: Recognize that your sin separates you from God: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Realize that God loves you, and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins: "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Receive Him into your life by faith: "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord, ' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
