Results of the studies of two leading Russian researchers in the field as well as of other Russian and foreign specialists are presented in this book. The nature and development of two physical processes - glass transition and crystallization determinig low-temperature behaviour of elastomers are under consideration in connection with the structure and composition of elastomeric materials. The effects of deformation, pressure and temperature on these processes are viewed. The contribution of different factors in frost-resistance of elastomeric materials and articles is discussed as well. Specific features of low-temperature behaviour of all existent rubbers are systemized. Furthermore, the possibilities of increasing the frost-resistance of different types of elastomeric materials and articles by means of optimization of composition and design are considered.

Deformation And Fracture Behaviour Of Polymer Materials written by Wolfgang Grellmann and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-07-12 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book covers the most recent advances in the deformation and fracture behaviour of polymer material. It provides deeper insight into related morphology–property correlations of thermoplastics, elastomers and polymer resins. Each chapter of this book gives a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art methods of materials testing and diagnostics, tailored for plastic pipes, films and adhesive systems as well as elastomeric components and others. The investigation of deformation and fracture behaviour using the experimental methods of fracture mechanics has been the subject of intense research during the last decade. In a systematic manner, modern aspects of fracture mechanics in the industrial application of polymers for bridging basic research and industrial development are illustrated by multifarious examples of innovative materials usage. This book will be of value to scientists, engineers and in polymer materials science.

Advances In Polymer Coated Textiles written by Gueneri Akovali and has been published by Smithers Rapra this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-07-24 with Science categories.
Polymer coated textiles are known as engineered composite materials at macro scale. Coating can offer significant improvements to the substrate, mainly of the physical (like impermeability and fabric abrasion) and/or of overall chemical properties; as well as the appearance, by combining advantages of the components.Polymer coated systems employ various kinds of textile substrate structures available, mostly of technical textiles. Since there are a number of possibilities for different types of polymers and their combinations, textile structures as well as their combinations are possible; it is widely open to creativities and almost every day some new innovative application is being introduced. Polymer coated textile industry, being parallel to the developments in the textile research, is so dynamic that, today, applications like reactive coatings with nanoparticles (with self cleaning, self sterilizing surfaces), systems with conductive polymer coatings to provide EM shielding, electronic textile systems -with body monitoring properties-, environmental responsive systems etc. are already somewhat classical and are considered almost left in the shade of incoming new developments. This book is an up-to-date summary of the subject by considering the passage from conventional to emerging technologies. Criteria for selection of the coat and textile are considered and the manufacturing basics of the system are summarized. Emerging technologies and applications (including smart, intelligent and nanostructured applications) are completed by testing and quality control methods of these systems. The book is written for all that are interested in this interdisciplinary area, it certainly will prove to be of great help to textile and polymer technologists, to engineers, to scientists, as well as to students.

Pressure Sensitive Formulation written by Istvan Benedek and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-06-07 with Science categories.
Growing interest in the formulation of pressure-sensitive adhesives as described in the first edition of this book ( Pressure-Sensitive Formulation, VSP, 2000) required a new, enlarged edition including the design of pressure-sensitive adhesives as a separate volume. Developments in the understanding of pressure sensitivity were necessary to use macromolecular chemistry for pressure-sensitive design. Such developments include polymer physics and contact mechanics. Progress in coating technology, especially in in-line coating- and synthesis, opened new ways for the design of pressure-sensitive adhesives and products as well. Actually, pressure-sensitive-products with and without adhesives compete requiring a broad variety of material formulations and the corresponding manufacturing technology. The first volume of the book examines the theoretical aspects of pressure-sensitive design, based on macromolecular chemistry, macromolecular physics, rheology and contact mechanics. The second volume describes the practical aspects of pressure-sensitive design and formulation, related to product application. The advances in the various domains are described by specialists.
