Le but du volet GLASS de la surveillance de la consommation des antimicrobiens au niveau national (GLASS-AMC) est de fournir une méthodologie commune et standardisée pour mesurer et rapporter la consommation d'agents antimicrobiens au niveau des pays. En utilisant celle-ci, il est possible de suivre les tendances au cours du temps à l’échelle nationale, cela facilitera les comparaisons entre les pays et fournira un outil de mesure commun pour rapporter les données sur l’utilisation des antimicrobiens. Finalement, cette méthodologie contribue à l’objectif du plan d’action mondial de lutte contre la RAM d’optimiser l’usage des antimicrobiens aux niveaux national, régional et mondial. Ce document décrit la méthodologie OMS pour la surveillance de la consommation des antimicrobiens au niveau national ainsi que ces principes pour collecter et rapporter ces données, incluant les sources de données, la classification ATC/DDJ, les variables et métriques à rapporter. De plus, ce document fournit des instructions pour mettre en place un système national de surveillance de la consommation des antimicrobiens, pour l’échange de données entre les pays et l’OMS et pour l’utilisation de la plateforme en ligne GLASS-AMC.

Le présent document présente le concept et le contenu de l’approche de l’OMS axée sur les personnes pour lutter contre la résistance aux antimicrobiens (RAM) dans le secteur de la santé humaine. L’approche proposée expose les défis et les obstacles liés aux systèmes de santé auxquels les personnes sont confrontées lorsqu’elles accèdent aux services de santé pour prévenir, diagnostiquer et traiter les infections (résistantes aux médicaments) et entend proposer des solutions pour y faire face. Elle place les personnes et leurs besoins au centre de la lutte contre la RAM et guide les décideurs dans l’adoption de mesures programmatiques et globales visant à réduire la RAM dans le cadre d’un ensemble d’interventions essentielles. Ces interventions s’articulent autour de quatre piliers reposant sur deux étapes fondamentales de base qui sont cruciaux pour surmonter les obstacles auxquels sont confrontés les populations et les systèmes de santé dans la lutte contre la RAM. Les quatre piliers sont les suivants : 1) la prévention des infections ; 2) l’accès aux services de santé essentiels ; 3) un diagnostic rapide et précis ; et 4) un traitement approprié et de qualité garantie. Les piliers reposent sur deux étapes fondamentales : d’une part le étape Gouvernance efficace, sensibilisation et éducation et d’autre part le étape Informations stratégiques grâce à la surveillance et la recherche.

The study of this technique was largely neglected in the past in European and Western countries and there is now a high demand for SSF, meaning in food, environment, agricultural, phannaceutical and many other biotechnological applications. On the name of the Scientific Community, I would like to express the wish that this International Symposium on SSF should be successful. Solid State Fermentation is part of biotechnology research. It consists on seeding solid culture medium with bacteria or fungi (filamentous or higher) and on producing, in this medium (solid components and exudates) metabolites and high value products. In fact, this process is very old. In older industries such the food and agricultural, this technique has been extensively used. An example of this is the production of pork sausages and Roquefort cheese. Pharmaceutical industry could make extensive use of SSF in the production of secondary metabolites of many kinds and development in this direction is soon expected.
