Structure and power are two defining and interrelated aspects of the German theater business. It is based on the strictly hierarchical organization of 1900 and has undergone hardly any structural changes since then. This not only impairs the innovative capacity of this important institution, but also leads to inappropriately strong power positions of the directors, to conflicts with the ensembles and employees, and hinders the development and renewal of the artistic potentials of this cultural technique. This book investigates the activities undertaken by the variety of actors that contribute to accomplishing cultural policy in Europe. These range from policy formulation and administration at the national and local levels, to artistic and cultural production activities to institutional governance. Arts and culture are an essential component to individual and collective quality of life. States, regions and municipalities increasingly recognize this intrinsic importance, as well as the instrumental values of the arts and culture. This has led to an increased interest in cultural policy, usually focusing on the policy process and policy effects. How cultural policy is accomplished is a matter of correspondingly increased importance, but less researched and understood. This volume shows how accomplishing cultural policy encompasses a vast expanse of activities, all unique but bound together as part of the continuous process of producing publicly subsidized art and culture for social and aesthetic purposes. Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Theaterwissenschaft, Tanz, Note: 1,7, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg (KMM), Veranstaltung: Einführung Kulturmanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das staatliche Theater sieht sich aktuell einer strukturellen und finanziellen Krise gegenüber. Im Folgenden soll diese anhand einer kritischen Analyse des künstlerischen Betriebsbüros untersucht und Optimierungsansätze für die Zusammenarbeit im Kulturbetrieb Theater erarbeitet werden. Hierzu wird zunächst der Begriff des Kulturmanagements definiert und erläutert. Darauf folgt eine Einführung in die Arbeit des künstlerischen Betriebsbüros und die Vorstellung dessen Aufgaben. Auf Grundlage dessen werden die künstlerischen Prozesse im Theaterbetrieb unter Berücksichtigung der Zuständigkeiten, näher beleuchtet. Anhand eines Fallbeispiels wird die Krise in welcher sich viele Theaterbetriebe derzeit befinden aufgezeigt und anschließend die Rolle des künstlerischen Betriebsbüros innerhalb dieser Krise analysiert. Anschließend werden Lösungsansätze und Optimierungsmöglichkeiten der Zusammenarbeit im Kulturbetrieb Theater diskutiert und bewertet. In dieser Ausführung wird von einem staatlichen Theaterbetrieb ausgegangen.
