The New Politics Of Energy Security In The European Union And Beyond written by Andrea Prontera and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-05-18 with Political Science categories.

Combining theoretical reflections and empirical insights from paradigmatic case studies in the area of external energy governance, pipeline politics, Liquefied Natural Gas development and offshore petroleum policy and politics, this ground-breaking study demonstrates that a distinctive and new politics of energy security is definitively emerging in the European Union. Innovative not only in regard to the case studies presented (which include the Caspian region, the Baltic, Mediterrean countries, Central Asia and EU-Russia relations), but also in regard to the analytical framework adopted – an International Political Economy approach informed by an historical institutional perspective – the book challenges the common view of the ‘de-politicisation’ of energy security supported by the mainstream market approach and the power politics and ‘zero-sum game’ view supported by the geopolitical perspective. This book places the study of EU energy politics in the broader, evolving context of global energy markets and explores the complex interactions between EU and national political dynamics and between energy security and environmental concerns at the local level.

Thesis (M.A.) from the year 2019 in the subject Business economics - Company formation, Business Plans, , language: English, abstract: The main purpose of this dissertation is to study which challenges foreign companies are faced with in Germany and outline the strategies and opportunities for related companies with special focus on the management consulting. When the challenges are taken in a wide view, simultaneously the companies can perform the analysis of opportunities and strengths against threads and weaknesses. The challenge based strategies will create economic and social value for the companies. The dissertation concludes that foreign companies can create competitive positions in Germany when they develop the understanding of challenges they face and innovative strategies based on their different culture and specific advantages. Additionally, management consulting can help to support the implementation of strategies and models. Germany has a leadership role among surrounding European countries and is the fifth largest economy in the world. It has a very high degree of openness for international trade and business. Germany has established itself as a key economic power on the global stage making doing business in Germany more attractive than ever. In Germany, business culture is defined mostly with efficiency, quality and high technical standards and discipline. The business climate is very positive. Furthermore, the consumers have plenty of savings in the pockets. Doing business in Germany without adequate cross-cultural awareness, however, is a risky proposition. Many entrepreneurships and business relationships come to an end even before they begin. The values of German business culture at the root of the country's economic success can also prove a source of cross-cultural misunderstanding for global companies doing business in Germany. The intercultural differences and misunderstandings very often result in critical loss of time and money. The foreign companies in Germany have noteworthy risks and challenges. It is essential to understand the business environment and partners. Especially with Germans, even small issues can be crucial. If the foreign business partner has not enough understanding or experience about the differences of German business environment and culture, even speaking to a potential German business partner can create unexpected problems and results.

Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject Economics - International Economic Relations, grade: 1,3, University of applied sciences, Düsseldorf, language: English, abstract: This essay deals with the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU) and the resulting consequences for German companies which have business relations with the UK. The process and the reasons for Brexit will be explained chronologically followed by various consequences for German companies. The result of the referendum in June 2016 makes the UK the first country in the history of the EU to leave the association of states. The Brexit process and the associated contract negotiations took several years until the UK finally left the EU on 31.01.2020. However, many aspects – such as trading conditions – have still not been fully negotiated and there will be a transitional period until the end of the year. Since Germany and the UK are major trading partners for each other, there are consequences for German companies in various areas. In addition to the impact on trade, there may also be implications for value chains, employees or even corporate financing.

Routledge Handbook Of Climate Change And Society written by Constance Lever-Tracy and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-07-12 with Nature categories.

As the time-scales of natural change accelerate and converge with those of society, Routledge Handbook of Climate Change and Society takes the reader into largely uncharted territory in its exploration of anthropogenic climate change. Current material is used to highlight the global impact of this issue, and the necessity for multidisciplinary and global social science research and teaching to address the problem. The book is multidisciplinary and worldwide in scope, with contributors spanning specialisms including agro-forestry, economics, environmentalism, ethics, human geography, international relations, law, politics, psychology, sociology and theology. Their global knowledge is reflected in the content of the text, which encompasses chapters on American, European and Chinese policies, case studies of responses to disasters and of the new technological and lifestyle alternatives that are being adopted, and the negotiations leading up to the Copenhagen conference alongside a preface assessing its outcomes. Starting with an initial analysis by a leading climatologist, key issues discussed in the text include recent findings of natural scientists, social causation and vulnerability, media and public recognition or scepticism, and the merits and difficulties of actions seeking to mitigate and adapt. This accessible volume utilizes a wealth of case studies, explains technical terms and minimises the use of acronyms associated with the subject, making it an essential text for advanced undergraduates, postgraduate students and researchers in the social sciences.
