Since the time of Freud, some of the most radical innovators within critical theory have stressed the importance of the body and its representation to the constitution of subjectivity. This book explores some of the theoretical debates surrounding the body, and assesses its value as a critical concept, through an analysis of the body’s representation both in Welsh literary texts in English, and discourse about Wales more generally. Combining psychoanalytic with more culturally orientated approaches to the body, the book offers an historically informed account of the body that analyses its role in the construction and contestation of identity at a cultural as well as individual level, contributing in a new and radical way to the rapidly expanding critical literature concerned with exploring the construction of identity in a Welsh cultural context.

Give students an early reading boost and tap into the power of rimes. Teachers have found that they can expand students' word power immensely by introducing them to the concept of onsets and rimes. Onsets are single consonants, blends, and digraphs that begin words or syllables. Rimes are the vowel and whatever follows it in a syllable. Rimes tend to be spelled and pronounced the same in most words in which they are found. Thus, knowing the most common rimes gives students control over hundreds of words in the English language. Students will practice letter/sound recognition while building, reading, and writing hundreds of words. They will add selected onset tiles (consonants, blends, and digraphs) to common rimes, such as at and en, and blend them together. Watch them discover the huge number of words they can make. With the ake rime alone, they can build 14 words. Use the 70 word-building lessons for individual, whole class, or small group instruction.

Dear reader: It is my sincere prayer and desire that, as you read “Rivers of Inspiration”, God will use these words of prose to inspire and encourage you to view life from a completely different perspective than what you are used to. You see, so many of us go through life experiencing difficulties, trials, tests, temptations, and troubles of all kinds; and, many times, we only focus on the negative aspects of each situation. When we do this, it makes it so very hard for us to see God’s light in the midst of all the darkness around us. It also makes it hard for us to understand God’s wisdom and purpose in allowing us to go through each situation; unless, of course, we can find enough grace to change our focus. So, I hope that God will use these words to encourage someone to look beyond the way things appear; and at least seek to view life’s situations as God sees them. As you prayerfully read the following pages, may you receive an impartation of God’s grace and power to overcome in the midst of the troubles of your life. Sincerely, Poet and Author: Bob E. McGlothlin

From the grandson of world-famous marriage expert Gary Smalley comes a practical and hope-filled guide to building great relationships. No one in history has seen a world like this. Never before has information been so accessible. Never before have people lived as long, enjoyed fuller bank accounts, or been more connected. Yet, we live in a world where relationships remain unfulfilled. People aren't happy. Marriages are falling apart. And the so-called "strongest relationships" we have are built on a simple swipe to the right. So, what's the problem? If anyone can answer this impending question, it's Michael Gibson. Growing up with a front row seat to the life and marriage of his grandfather, best-selling author and speaker Gary Smalley, Michael witnessed firsthand what it truly takes to build a life filled with great relationships.
