man no be God is a story of a willing and driven Canadian doctor who spent his life immersed in the wonderful, complex and interesting lives of the people of western Cameroon. The individuals he went to learn from, to serve, to encourage, to support, and to befriend together provide a fascinating look at familiar struggles and triumphs in an unfamiliar setting. There is nothing more fulfilling or satisfying than being involved in and involved with others. Although this writer has the satisfaction of knowing that he has done what he was called to do, there is a vast and frightening opportunity for the reader to dare to take the same challenge. AIDS does not threaten to destroy a great horde of faceless peopleit is far worse. It is destroying lovely, interesting, vibrant, and extremely valuable individuals, one at a time, relentlessly, killing off a significant part of each of us as it marches through Africa. One mans experience, and willingness to throw talent, brains, and brawn into being a part of peoples individual lives made a difference to many, and enriched him far more than he ever thought possible. (Thats how the mundane becomes meaningful, after all). Therein lies the glimmer of hope, and the challenge. Anyone can, if anyone will, make a difference to at least one other. Doing so in the face of this killer sharpens and focuses that challengeand its rewardsimmensely.

There's only one way to overcome a spiritual terrorist. The war on terror is out of balance. Billions of dollars and cutting-edge weaponry pitted against faceless zealots. Cunning foes who fight dirty. Though inferior in strength, they remain surprisingly deadly. In spiritual terms, this conflict perfectly illustrates our vulnerability to Satan's attacks. He exploits every advantage to destroy us--and his advantages are considerable. He's a lot smarter than we are, he knows our weak points, he's invisible, and he breaks all rules. How can we possibly defend ourselves against such an adversary? The only way to overcome such a deadly foe is to know what Scripture says on the matter. Ray Pritchard tackles this challenge in Stealth Attack. By drawing upon the teaching and examples of Jesus, Peter, Paul, and others, he offers practical steps for outmaneuvering the most shameless and stealthy foe imaginable.

Several years ago Pastor Ray Pritchard set out on a journey. The destination of his journey was to discover the basic laws of the Christian’s life. Not surprisingly, his journey began and ended in the same place—God. Romans 11:36 poetically proclaims "for from Him and through Him and to Him are all things." All spirituality flows from a correct perspective of God, and all heresy begins with a misunderstanding of God. From this beginning, Pastor Ray compiled the Seven Laws of the Spiritual Life. These laws are the basic truths that every believer needs to know in order to have a healthy relationship with God.

Wick Poetry Chapbook Series Two, Number 12. Part of the marvel of Kent Maynard's Sunk Like God Behind the House is Maynard's material, for here is a professional anthropologist who has come late to poetry and brings a vast, coherent body of knowledge, a narrative of cross-cultural investment and sympathy. Maynard renders his many years of experience in the fields, forests, and villages of Cameroon in a highly personal, compassionate stance ... Here are the lives of mommies and Kedjom farmers, here the dazing heat and forty billion ants feeding on banana leaves. Maynard's finely tuned lyricism is as capable of Pidgin English as of the pure song of connection and love. And thus, the other marvel of this collection: Maynard's impressive poetic skills. Sunk Like God Behind the House is a joyous debut. --David Baker.

In the early 1900s the motor-vehicle (car, bus, lorry or motor-cycle) was introduced in sub-Saharan Africa. Initially the plaything and symbol of colonial domination, the motor-vehicle transformed the economic and social life of the continent. Indeed, the motor-vehicle is arguably the single most important factor for change in Africa in the twentieth century. A factor for change that thus far has been neglected in research and literature. Yet its impact extends across the totality of human existence; from ecological devastation to economic advancement, from cultural transformation to political change, through to a myriad of other themes. This edited volume of eleven contributions by historians, anthropologists and social and political scientists explores aspects of the social history and anthropology of the motor-vehicle in Africa.

David was to be the future king of Israel. And yet, as you’ll see firsthand in this compelling Bible study, the journey to that goal was filled with dangers, delays, and difficulties. Just like David, every man has a dream of who he wants to become. But getting there is a different story. Hardships and losses can destroy the faith–and even the life–of a lesser man. Many men fail to realize their dreams because they choose comfort over character, image over substance, and escape over endurance. But a man who knows how to embrace hardship and learn to mine it for God’s purposes will see his godly dreams come true. Hardships are inevitable. Embracing them is a choice. God’s dream for you is at stake. And Being God’s Man…in Tough Times will equip you to overcome life’s difficulties in the power and wisdom of God.

Where Is God written by William Jannen and has been published by iUniverse this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-02-18 with Religion categories.

The monotheist God evolved in the Jewish tradition and was adopted by Christianity, Islam, and Mormonism in turn: unknowable and ineffable. Religious writers have told us for thousands of years that this God is beyond all human comprehension. How can we know if a God is out there? Even if such a God exists, scripture claims that it means death even to look upon him. How, then, can we come to know God? Pagan polytheists had no such problem. Their world was full of Gods. They often appeared in human form and interacted with human beings. They could be unpredictable and had to be handled carefully. Monotheism replaced all that with God that is a complete mystery. He cannot be found. He cannot be seen. He cannot be understood by human minds. If that is what religion has come to, we may as well face the fact that we are alone in the universe. We shall have to learn to live with that. There s nothing out there.
