Excerpt from Man's Greatest Discovery: Six Soul Culture Essays These essays are Truth to me. They wrote themselves. I was but the instrument through which thought crystallized. They welled up from a full heart and were moist with tears of joy. When the significance of the Greatest of all human discoveries dawned upon me, like Saul of Tarsus, I was stricken with the magnitude of the Perception and for several days lived as one in a trance. The sub-conscious life was the only reality. I lived that which I have here written. When the Thought crystallized into the title of this book, like the Greek of old I cried, "Eureka," and paced my room in rapture. I clairvoyantly perceived the wonderful possibilities that lay in the Discovery. Like a mighty spiritual wind, such as the old Hebrew seers felt when they prophesied, was this perception of fulfillment. "The hour now is when men shall no more worship God either in temple or on mount, but shall know themselves almighty and deathless," was the Voice within me. I saw man as Conscious King of himself, and "I Am Power" was the Affirmation then realized. In this spirit was the first essay written. Day by day, since that September morning, have I entered more and more into the Realization of the Vision then vouchsafed me. Medicine S 10 Greatest Discoveries written by Meyer Friedman and has been published by Yale University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998-01-01 with Medical categories.

In 1675, Antony van Leeuwenhoek, an unlearned haberdasher from Delft, placed a drop of rainwater under his microscope and detected thousands of tiny animals in it. Leeuwenhoek proceeded to examine the microscopic activity of his spittle, teeth plaque, and feces, and as the result of his findings the field of bacteriology was born. Some two hundred years later, Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Wurzburg, invited his wife to his laboratory, asked her to place her hand on an unexposed photographic plate, turned on an electric current, and showed this terrified woman a picture of the bones of her hand. And so came the discovery of the X-ray. This absorbing book is the first to describe these and eight other monumental medical discoveries throughout history, bringing to life the scientific pioneers responsible for them and the excitement, frustrations, and jealousies that surrounded the final achievements. Two distinguished physicians, Meyer Friedman and Gerald W. Friedland, have drawn on their many years of experience as well as on that of world-renowned antiquarian book dealers, physician collectors of old and new medical publications, and medical school professors to single out these medical breakthroughs from thousands of candidates, and, in several cases, to provide information never before available. Their engrossing stories of the ten most significant discoveries will be read with enjoyment by anyone fascinated by the mysteries of medicine.

Here's the secret in 3 steps: 1. Suspend disbelief as you read the following: 2. ""We Become What We Think About."" - Earl Nightingale 3. Then, decide that it's true. Now, the rest of your life, you'll be testing this for yourself. You may be asking questions like these: - Can you actually change what you think about? - Do positive thoughts create a positive personal environment? - By being critical of anything or anyone around you actually improve conditions? - Is your health affected by negative thinking? You'll find continuing instances of how this is true and how it might not be. You'll be "haunted" by this singular thought, although the results will help you awake with fresh inspirations about how to live your life even better than you are now. In this first part, the basics of Nightingale's philosophy are revealed, based on notes from key recordings. As Earl Nightingale once said: ""Start today. You have nothing to lose - but you have your whole life to win.""

A Jungian answer to the centuries old question: what happens when we die? Based on her own experiences following the death of her mother, Jenny Vanbergen walks through a compelling and thoughtful discussion on the possibility of life after death. Using the works of many renowned thinkers, such as Carl Jung, The Homes of the Soul takes an analytical approach as it discusses theories such as the psyche, the ego, personal and collective unconscious and the holographic universe in relation to the possibility of life after death. The books deals with complex theories, while still remaining clear and accessible. Vanbergen’s warm yet scientific - and at times humorous - approach to dealing with such immense questions will bring comfort to those dealing with grief, but also appeal to anyone interested in analytical psychology or ideas surrounding the afterlife.
