Man S Search For Himself written by Rollo May and has been published by Dar El Kalema Publishing House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Psychology categories.

Rollo May takes us on a quest in search for our true selves and gives us advice in how to live more meaningful lives. He uses parables and and analogies from Greek classics, biblical stories, and philosophical writings to help make his point. This isn't a "Ten Steps to Live a Better Life" type of book. It is a book that thoroughly and powerfully makes us look within ourselves for meaning. this book is dated shouldn't make it any less relevant. Lots of books that are read and appreciated today are timeless because they tap into some truth that is the essence of existence in any age. A hundred years from now, will the ideals qualities of humanity be much different from those of "freedom, responsibility, courage, love, and inner integrity"? Are these not the qualities and principals all people live by in any age in time? For sure, there are elements in there that are dated, but the feeling of emptiness always plagues society. It is perhaps a human consider for every society to feel "emptier" than the one that preceded it. This is a book that I would recommend anyone who has gotten too used to living, and is taking it for granted. For life is precious, and a shame to waste. Rollo May's method of synthesizing literature, history, legend, psychology and philosophy makes this book accessible, relevant, and important.

Viktor Frankl, bestselling author of Man's Search for Meaning, explains the psychological tools that enabled him to survive the Holocaust Viktor Frankl is known to millions as the author of Man's Search for Meaning, his harrowing Holocaust memoir. In this book, he goes more deeply into the ways of thinking that enabled him to survive imprisonment in a concentration camp and to find meaning in life in spite of all the odds. He expands upon his groundbreaking ideas and searches for answers about life, death, faith and suffering. Believing that there is much more to our existence than meets the eye, he says: 'No one will be able to make us believe that man is a sublimated animal once we can show that within him there is a repressed angel.' He explains how we can create meaning for ourselves and, ultimately, he reveals how life has more to offer us than we could ever imagine.

In Nightingale’s own words: “The only man who succeeds is the man who is progressively realizing a worthy ideal.” In this book, Nightingale distills his lifetime of research on human motivation into a simple success formula—the very same one that propelled his own achievement. He devoted his life to searching out a recipe for achievement—a means of predicting success in any area of life. While reading the line in Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich that “we become what we think about,” Nightingale experienced a watershed moment of self-discovery that resulted in his becoming financially independent by the young age of thirty-five. Power And Innocence A Search For The Sources Of Violence written by Rollo May and has been published by W. W. Norton & Company this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1998-03-17 with Psychology categories.

Stressing the positive, creative aspects of power and innocence, Rollo May offers a way of thinking about the problems of contemporary society. Rollo May defines power as the ability to cause or prevent change; innocence, on the other hand, is the conscious divesting of one's power to make it seem a virtuea form of powerlessness that Dr. May sees as particularly American in nature. From these basic concepts he suggests a new ethic that sees power as the basis for both human goodness and evil. Dr. May discusses five levels of power's potential in each of us: the infant's power to be; self-affirmation, the ability to survive with self-esteem; self-assertion, which develops when self-affirmation is blocked; aggression, a reaction to thwarted assertion; and, finally, violence, when reason and persuasion are ineffective.

Man In Search Of Himself written by Jean Charon and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-04-01 with Science categories.

Man, it will be objected, is a living being, and therefore belongs in the first place to the domain of the biologist; but he is also a thinking being, and therefore belongs to the psychologist; in his evolutionary setting, he is the concern of the palaeontologist; but he is also a being capable of philosophizing, capable of artistic and religious feelings, and so comes within the province of the philosopher, the artist, and the theologian. But what on earth is a physicist doing in this company? What does he know about man, since man is not his special field of research? If I must make my apologies for daring to come out of the cave in which I seemed to be confined - my professional pigeon-hole, so to speak - I am more than willing to do so. This book, I admit, is the exact opposite of a specialist work. I admit moreover - even if I am to be condemned on this count - that I am particularly glad my work is not like that of a specialist. Jean Emile Charon was a French nuclear physicist, author of over 20 books on physics, scientific philosophy, and computer science.
