Verglichen wird das Management von Maschinen mit dem klassischen Management von Menschen. Ziel ist es, Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede herauszustellen und Ableitungen hieraus zu treffen, die dann in Empfehlungen für den Umgang in Smarten Fabriken münden. Um diese Zielsetzung zu erreichen, wird als Erstes eine Definition des Begriffs "Management" erarbeitet und eine Eingrenzung der Themen Industrie 4.0 und den Smarten Fabriken vorgenommen. Danach wird ergänzend hierzu das Management und die Kontrolle der Maschinen in den Smarten Fabriken dargestellt, hierbei steht besonders die Vernetzung der Maschinen im Fokus. Im zweiten Teil werden sowohl die Herausforderungen und die benötigten Kompetenzen des Managements von Maschinen, als auch von Menschen analysiert. Hierzu werden im Anschluss Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede herausgearbeitet. Diese Erkenntnisse werden im dritten Abschnitt genutzt, um Konsequenzen für ein sinnhaftes Management in smarten Fabriken zusammengetragen und Empfehlungen abzugeben. Beendet wird diese Ausarbeitung durch eine Zusammenfassung und ein Fazit.

Ebenfalls kleinere Betriebe, mittelständische Unternehmen oder große Konzerne tappen in vielen Bereichen der Digitalisierung noch im Dunkeln und haben Probleme mit der wirtschaftlichen Umsetzung. Zu Beginn des Assignments werden die grundlegenden Begriffe genauer erläutert, dies trägt zum Einstieg in die Thematik bei. Die Definition des Begriffs "Management" steht hierbei im Fokus. Anschließend wird eine fundierte Analyse des Managements eines Maschinenparks einer smarten Fabrik durchgeführt. Weiterführend vergleicht die Arbeit zwischen dem Management von Maschinen und dem Management von lebendigen Organisationen. Es werden Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten aufgezeigt und erörtert. Abgeschlossen wird das Thema mit einer Zusammenfassung der erhaltenen Ergebnisse sowie einem Fazit mit Ausblick.
