Questo Manifesto è la prova che l'unico limite all'Osteopatia non può che celarsi nella mente dell'Osteopata. Eravamo abituati a concepire i benefici della nostra professione come unicamente riservati all'essere umano, e al massimo a qualche animale a quattro zampe. Ma in realtà ogni forma di consapevolezza in quanto tale non può che interagire con un cuore che pulsa, una mente in ascolto e delle mani che 'pensano' a fini terapeutici.La vita è movimento, in ogni sua espressione... il mondo vegetale era un campo ancora inesplorato e tuttavia da sempre disponibile all'Osteopatia e alle sue potenzialità. Per la prima volta nella storia, la nostra professione si apre finalmente alla possibilità, tutta ancora da verificare, di adattare principi, metodi e tecniche a beneficio di una 'clientela' alquanto insolita, ma forse recettiva tanto quanto quella umana.Infatti, la neurofisiologia botanica ha ormai da anni dimostrato che fiori, piante ed alberi sono in grado di 'sentire', percepire luci, suoni, variazioni termiche, nonché la presenza, l'intenzione e il comportamento dell'uomo nell'ambiente circostante. Come ogni essere vivente, anch'essi si riproducono, imparano, si adattano, crescono, si difendono, comunicano, si muovono, seguendo tempi, leggi, modalità che appartengono al loro regno in tutta la sua unicità. Sta all'Osteopatia ora imparare questo 'nuovo' linguaggio non verbale, ma comunque presente; sviluppare una mente silenziosa in grado di ascoltare il non udibile; adeguare l'azione delle mani ad una meccanica e ad una fisiologia del tutto diversa dall'usuale.La genialità dell'Autore ha gettato una pietra miliare in questo percorso innovativo che coinvolge ciascuno di noi, nessuno escluso. Con tutta franchezza, non vedo un mercato né un business in questo settore, ma solo una mission vera e propria: aprire la coscienza collettiva al rispetto e alla sana interazione (anche terapeutica) con la natura, senza la quale non ci sarebbe nessun pianeta Terra sul quale vivere. Siamo in un contesto mondiale ormai drammatico, e lo sappiamo tutti bene, ma non sembriamo capaci di fare altro che lamentarci e tirare avanti con le nostre vite di ogni giorno. É ora di svegliarsi! È ora di agire!!! ...e questo Manifesto è solo un'espressione di un cambiamento epocale coscienziale che mi auguro avvenga presto in ogni suo molteplice aspetto. Spero in progetti di ricostituzione ambientale, di rivalutazione di aree protette, di risanamento di aree colpite dal disboscamento criminale e da incendi indomati; progetti sostenuti dalle Istituzioni e da realtà associative vicine alla causa, che potrebbero beneficiare anche dal contributo offerto da un'Osteopatia sveglia, attenta e disponibile alla tutela della vita di ogni essere vivente. Siamo solo ospiti di questo pianeta. Abbiamo il dovere di proteggerlo in ogni sua forma ed espressione. E dobbiamo iniziare da noi, da qui, da ora!
