Ce manuel a été conçu pour résoudre cette difficulté à laquelle bien des latinistes se sont déjà heurtés. Il a pour ambition de rendre la pratique du petit latin à la fois faisable, profitable et agréable. L’ouvrage comporte de nombreux textes d'auteurs variés suffisamment longs pour permettre de s'imprégner de la langue de chaque écrivain. Tous les textes sont très abondamment annotés pour éviter autant que possible le recours au dictionnaire ou à la grammaire. Les chapitres comportent également une mise en contexte de l’extrait, des notices lexicales et grammaticales et des pistes de commentaire littéraire. Cet ouvrage sera utile à toutes celles et tous ceux qui étudient le latin ou qui ont simplement du goût pour cette langue. Le petit latin a prouvé depuis longtemps son efficacité pour préparer de la meilleure façon possible les différents concours comportant une version ou une explication latines à leur programme. Et puis, quoi de plus plaisant que de pouvoir lire de façon fluide les grands auteurs latins dans le texte ?
