Am 4./5. Dezember 1991 fand an der Bergakademie Freiberg ein WirtschaftskoUoquium zum Thema: "Wettbewerbsfahigkeit durch marktnahe Produktionskonzepte" statl Dieses Forum war der erste wirtschaftswissenschaftliche FachkongreB dieser Art, der nach der deutschen Wiedervereinigung von einer ostdeutschen Universitiit veranstaltet wurde und als Aufforderung zum Dialog zwischen Wissenschaft und Praxis verstanden werden soUte. Der KongreB fand groBe Beachtung im Kreis der Fachvertreter, der Gewerkschaften, der Be triebsrlite und Unternehmer, nicht nur in den neuen Bundesliindern. Das KongreBthema und die prominente Besetzung der Fachreferate belebte die aktuelle Diskussion urn die Erhaltung der deutschen Industriestiirke angesichts der intemationalen Wettbewerbsverschlirfung. Die Schirmherrschaft flir den KongreB Ubernahm der Siichsische Staatsminister flir Wirtschaft, Dr. Kajo Schommer, der damit die Bedeutung dieses Kongresses auch fUr den Aufbau der Siichsischen Wirtschaft heraushob. AIle wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultiiten und Fachbereiche der Universitiiten und Hoch schulen in den neuen Bundesliindem befinden sich derzeit in der Phase der Emeuerung von Forschung und Lehre. Dies gilt auch flir die Betriebswirtschaftslehre in Freiberg, wo die Gestaltung von Curricula und Forschungsprogrammen im Dialog mit der Wirtschaft und den Sozialpartnern angegangen wird. Die Bergakademie Freiberg - eine der weltiiltesten und bedeutendsten Montanhochschulen - war stets auf die Zusammenarbeit mit der berg- und hUttenmiinnischen Praxis angewiesen. Mit diesem KongreB soUte auch das Signal an die Siichsische Wirtschaft gegeben werden, daB die neue Wirtschaftsfakultiit als kompetenter Kooperationspartner flir die aktuellen Fragen des wirtschaftIichen Aufbaus zur VerfUgung steht. Der EmeuerungsprozeB der Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Bergakademie Freiberg ist ins gesamt ein gelungenes Beispiel flir erfolgreich verlaufende Partner- und Patenschaften
