The book describes the theoretical principles of nonstatistical methods of data analysis but without going deep into complex mathematics. The emphasis is laid on presentation of solved examples of real data either from authors' laboratories or from open literature. The examples cover wide range of applications such as quality assurance and quality control, critical analysis of experimental data, comparison of data samples from various sources, robust linear and nonlinear regression as well as various tasks from financial analysis. The examples are useful primarily for chemical engineers including analytical/quality laboratories in industry, designers of chemical and biological processes. Features: Exclusive title on Mathematical Gnostics with multidisciplinary applications, and specific focus on chemical engineering. Clarifies the role of data space metrics including the right way of aggregation of uncertain data. Brings a new look on the data probability, information, entropy and thermodynamics of data uncertainty. Enables design of probability distributions for all real data samples including smaller ones. Includes data for examples with solutions with exercises in R or Python. The book is aimed for Senior Undergraduate Students, Researchers, and Professionals in Chemical/Process Engineering, Engineering Physics, Stats, Mathematics, Materials, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, Mining, Sales, Marketing and Service, and Finance.

The Theology Of Arithmetic written by Joel Kalvesmaki and has been published by Harvard University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Arithmetic categories.

In the second century, some Gnostic Christians used numerical structures to describe God, interpret the Bible, and frame the universe. The Theology of Arithmetic explores the rich variety of number symbolism used by gnosticizing groups and their orthodox critics, and shows how earlier neo-Pythagorean and Platonist thought influenced this theology.

This Festschrift honors the life and work of John D. Turner (Charles J. Mach University Professor of Classics and History at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln) on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Professor Turner’s work has been of profound importance for the study of the interaction between Greek philosophy and Gnosticism in late antiquity. This volume contains essays by international scholars on a broad range of topics that deal with Sethian, Valentinian and other early Christian thought, as well as with Platonism and Neoplatonism, and offer a variety of perspectives spanning intellectual history, Greek and Coptic philology, and the study of religions.

A UNIQUE BOOK ON THE PRESENT STATUS OF SOLVENTS AND SOLUTIONS WITH IMPORTANT PROBLEMS RELATED TO THEIR STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES The literature on the properties of solvents and solutions used in academic research and in a wide range of industries has grown enormously during the last four decades, and is scattered in different specialized journals. Solvents and Solutions is a groundbreaking text that offers a systematic compilation of important problems related to selected properties of solvents and solutions based on the literature published so far. The author places emphasis on explaining the basic concepts involved in understanding the properties and behavior of various solvents and solutions of electrolytes and nonelectolytes in a consistent manner. After a description of the general characteristics of structure of solvents and solutions and the solubility of electrolytes and nonelectrolytes under normal temperature and pressure conditions, the book first deals with different aspects of the density and the refractive index of solvents and dilute as well as concentrated solutions, and finally with the transport (i.e. viscosity and electric conductivity) and thermal properties of solvents and solutions. Solvents and solutions is the first text devoted to the description and discussion of their properties since the publication of a monograph on the physical properties of aqueous electrolyte solutions more than three decades ago. The main features of this book are: Reflects developments in the investigation of solvents and solutions during the last three decades. Outlines basic concepts involved in understanding the properties and behavior of solvents and solutions. Describes and discusses different properties of ionic liquids as solvents and the behavior of their mixtures with other commonly used solvents. Contents of different chapters are not only self-contained but the contents are practically independent of each other. Written as a practical guide for researchers who are looking for an uptodate overview of the physical and transport properties of solvents and solutions, and as a reference source for workers in chemical industries and related fields and for graduate students of chemical engineering and physical chemistry.

The writings of theologians Thierry of Chartres (d. 1157) and Nicholas of Cusa (d. 1464) represent a lost history of momentous encounters between Christianity and Pythagorean ideas before the Renaissance. Their robust Christian Neopythagoreanism reconceived the Trinity and the Incarnation within the framework of Greek number theory, challenging our contemporary assumptions about the relation of religion and modern science. David Albertson surveys the slow formation of theologies of the divine One from the Old Academy through ancient Neoplatonism into the Middle Ages. Against this backdrop, Thierry of Chartres's writings stand out as the first authentic retrieval of Neopythagoreanism within western Christianity. By reading Boethius and Augustine against the grain, Thierry reactivated a suppressed potential in ancient Christian traditions that harmonized the divine Word with notions of divine Number. Despite achieving fame during his lifetime, Thierry's ideas remained well outside the medieval mainstream. Three centuries later Nicholas of Cusa rediscovered anonymous fragments of Thierry and his medieval readers, and drew on them liberally in his early works. Yet tensions among this collection of sources forced Cusanus to reconcile their competing understandings of Word and Number. Over several decades Nicholas eventually learned how to articulate traditional Christian doctrines within a fully mathematized cosmology-anticipating the situation of modern Christian thought after the seventeenth century. Mathematical Theologies skillfully guides readers through the newest scholarship on Pythagoreanism, the school of Chartres, and Cusanus, while revising some of the categories that have separated those fields in the past.

Is religion compatible with science? "The Tao of Physics" by Fritjof Capra famously attempted to draw parallels between modern physics and Eastern mysticism. What Capra conspicuously avoided was any comparison between the Abrahamic religions and physics. These religions of faith have no scientific component. The West has, in the last few hundred years, been the engine of scientific progress, yet the dominant religions of the West are anti-scientific. This has led to a damaging dichotomy in the Western mind. Doesn't the West have any enlightenment religions that might allow science and religion to find common ground? This book compares and contrasts the Gnostic religion of Illumination - the religion of the ancient secret society known as the Illuminati - with the main Eastern religions of Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism, and suggests that all four religions can be brought together under one banner – Enlightenment – that may stand in united opposition to Abrahamism: knowledge against faith.
