This book presents selected, peer-reviewed contributions from the International Symposium on Mathematical Analysis of Fractals and Dynamical Systems—2023 (ISMAFDS - 2023), held at the Department of Mathematics, School of Advanced Sciences, Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu in India during August 24-25, 2023. It offers readers an array of captivating connections between fractal theory and nonlinear dynamics across various physics sub-domains and mathematical modeling. Fractal geometry has been developed to describe irregular natural objects that defy characterization using Euclidean geometry. Fractal techniques, such as fractal dimension and fractal functions, prove effective in mathematically modeling real-world phenomena and forecasting future consequences. The impact of fractal theory on physical sciences is widely recognized, as natural phenomena frequently exhibit fractal structures. These new concepts revolutionize our understanding of the large-scale properties of matter distribution in the universe. The book aims to familiarize readers with recent developments in common fractal patterns found in statistical physics, quantum physics, and plasma physics. Furthermore, it highlights the relationship between fractals and nonlinear dynamics through innovative approaches in mathematical modeling. This publication caters to professionals in mathematics, physics, and computer science, and also serves as a helpful resource for non-specialists seeking to comprehend fractal and nonlinear dynamics concepts. It offers valuable applications for researchers in both pure and applied backgrounds of physics and engineering.

Mathematics of Complexity and Dynamical Systems is an authoritative reference to the basic tools and concepts of complexity, systems theory, and dynamical systems from the perspective of pure and applied mathematics. Complex systems are systems that comprise many interacting parts with the ability to generate a new quality of collective behavior through self-organization, e.g. the spontaneous formation of temporal, spatial or functional structures. These systems are often characterized by extreme sensitivity to initial conditions as well as emergent behavior that are not readily predictable or even completely deterministic. The more than 100 entries in this wide-ranging, single source work provide a comprehensive explication of the theory and applications of mathematical complexity, covering ergodic theory, fractals and multifractals, dynamical systems, perturbation theory, solitons, systems and control theory, and related topics. Mathematics of Complexity and Dynamical Systems is an essential reference for all those interested in mathematical complexity, from undergraduate and graduate students up through professional researchers.

Introduction To Mathematical Modeling And Chaotic Dynamics written by Ranjit Kumar Upadhyay and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-07-23 with Mathematics categories.

Introduction to Mathematical Modeling and Chaotic Dynamics focuses on mathematical models in natural systems, particularly ecological systems. Most of the models presented are solved using MATLAB®. The book first covers the necessary mathematical preliminaries, including testing of stability. It then describes the modeling of systems from natural science, focusing on one- and two-dimensional continuous and discrete time models. Moving on to chaotic dynamics, the authors discuss ways to study chaos, types of chaos, and methods for detecting chaos. They also explore chaotic dynamics in single and multiple species systems. The text concludes with a brief discussion on models of mechanical systems and electronic circuits. Suitable for advanced undergraduate and graduate students, this book provides a practical understanding of how the models are used in current natural science and engineering applications. Along with a variety of exercises and solved examples, the text presents all the fundamental concepts and mathematical skills needed to build models and perform analyses.

Even though the fractal approach to sustainability and organizational change management is not new, no authors so far seem to have truly attempted to use fractals as a mathematical means to map and measure organizational sustainability. Several sustainability maturity models and change management models and frameworks, concepts and computer generated systems came to the fore during the past two decades. They provided a set of useful tools for managers, academics and students to refer to, or on which to base their own actions and plans. However, one issue remains: most of those models and frameworks share a rather similar linear ‘skeleton’; the main difference between them is the quantitative variety of steps within each phase, stage, and parameter and how in depth each of these is presented. The authors' work addresses a clear gap in the literature and in applied research, as it emphasizes the relevance of using a complex mathematically-based but user-friendly fractal approach. Readers are able to better understand, implement, map and measure change management processes leading to a sustainability-focused mindset. Subsequent chapters guide you through the steps towards creating committed sustainability-based strategies, attitudes, actions and practices across all levels in the broad organizational context. This text is essential reading for students researching business and management and who are interested in the Fractal Sustainability concept.

Rain Formation In Warm Clouds written by A. M. Selvam and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-02-12 with Science categories.

This book aims to promote the understanding of some of the basic mathematical and scientific issues in the subjects relating to climate dynamics, chaos and quantum mechanics. It is based on substantial research work in atmospheric science carried out over twenty years. Atmospheric flows exhibit self similar fractal fluctuations, a signature of long-range correlations on all space-time scales. Realistic simulation and prediction of atmospheric flows requires the incorporation of the physics of observed fractal fluctuation characteristics in traditional meteorological theory. A general systems theory model for fractal space-time fluctuations in turbulent atmospheric flows is presented and applied to the formation of rain in warm clouds. This model gives scale-free universal governing equations for cloud growth processes. The model predicted cloud parameters are in agreement with reported observations, in particular, the cloud drop-size distribution. Rain formation can occur in warm clouds within 30 minutes as observed in practice under favourable conditions of moisture supply in the environment. Traditional cloud physical concepts for rain development requires over an hour for a full-sized raindrop to form. The book provides background reading for postgraduate students of Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences/Physics, Environmental Sciences, and scientists working in the field of the topic of the book as well as the multidisciplinary field of Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos.
