In the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, the phase of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) quark-mixing matrix [1, 2] is the only source of CP violation in the quark sector. Due to the interference between mixing and decay, this phase can be observed in measurements of time-dependent CP asymmetries of B° mesons. In the SM, CP asymmetries in b 2!s{bar s}s decays, such as B° 2!KK−K°, are expected to be nearly equal to those observed in tree-dominated b 2!{bar c}s decays [3]. However, because in the SM the former are dominated by loop amplitudes, new particles in those loops potentially introduce new physics at the same order as the SM process. Within the SM, deviations from the expected CP asymmetries in B° 2!KK−K° decays depend on the Dalitz plot position, but are expected to be small and positive [4]. In particular, for the decay B° 2![phi]K° they are expected to be less than 4%. BABAR extracts the time-dependent CP-violation parameters by taking into account different amplitudes and phases across the B° and {bar B}° Dalitz plots, while Belle measures it separately for B° 2![phi]K° and the rest of K+K−K° events, neglecting interference between intermediate states. The analyses presented here are based on 347 (535) million B{bar B} pairs collected with the BABAR (Belle) detector at the SLAC PEP-II (KEKB) e+e− asymmetric-energy collider. Data are collected on the [Upsilon](4S) resonance, while a fraction of about 10% is collected at approximately 40 MeV below the [Upsilon](4S) resonance, and it is used to study the background arising from e+e− 2!q{bar q} (q = u, d, s, c) continuum events. The BABAR and Belle detectors are described in detail elsewhere [5].

The authors present preliminary measurements of the Cp asymmetry parameters and CP content in B{sup 0} {yields} K{sup +}K{sup -}K{sub L}{sup 0} decays, with B{sup 0} {yields} {phi}K{sub L}{sup 0} events excluded. In a sample of 227 M B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B Factory at SLAC, they find the CP parameters to be S = 0.07 {+-} 0.28(stat){sub -0.12}{sup +0.11}(syst); C = 0.54 {+-} 0.22(stat){sub -0.09}{sup +0.08}(syst) where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. Estimating the fraction of CP-odd final states from angular moments analysis in the K{sup +}K{sup -}K{sub S}{sup 0} CP-conjugate final state, f{sub odd}(K{sup +}K{sup -}K{sub L}{sup 0}) = 0.92 {+-} 0.07(stat) {+-} 0.06(syst), they determine sin2{beta}{sub eff} = 0.09 {+-} 0.33(stat){sub -0.14}{sup +0.13}(syst) {+-} 0.10(syst CP-cont) where the last error is due to uncertainty on the CP content.

Using a vertexing technique previously employed in several analyses of all-neutral final states containing kaons, they report the first measurement of time-dependent CP-violating asymmetries in B{sup 0} {yields} K{sub S}{sup 0}K{sub S}{sup 0}, obtaining S = -1.28{sub -0.73 -0.16}{sup +0.80 +0.11} and C = -0.40 {+-} 0.41 {+-} 0.06. The CP violation is explained in the Standard Model with three quark generations with an irreducible phase in the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. The unitarity of this matrix can be represented in a complex plane as a triangle (called Unitarity Triangle). The measurement of the parameters of the triangle is a powerful test of the Standard Model description of the CP violation. This thesis tries to measure the weak phase 2beta+ gamma through the B0 -> D+ K0 Pi- decays. Respect to the two body decays B0 -> D(*)+ Pi- and B0 -> D+ Rho- presently used for the measurement of the same weak phase, the B0 -> D+ K0 Pi- decays should show up a larger CP asymmetry and does not rely on any theoretical assumption. After a review of all the methods for the measurement of 2beta+gamma, the thesis presents the results of a feasibility study of the measurement with the B0 -> D+ K0 Pi- decays . In a second part, the analysis performed on 316 fb-1 of data collected by the BaBar detector at the B-factory PEP2 is presented, from the selection of the events to the time-dependent Dalitz fit technique used in order to extract the weak phase 2beta+gamma as well as the amplitudes and phases of the intermediate resonances contributing to the decay. The result of the analysis gives the following estimation: 2beta+gamma = 89 +/- 53(stat) +23-14(syst) degrees with an irreducible ambiguity of 180 degrees.

We present a measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in B° 2!K*°[gamma] decays with K*° 2!K{sub S}°[pi]° based on 232 million [Upsilon](4S) 2!B{bar B} decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy ee− collider at SLAC. In a sample containing 157 ± 16 signal decays, we measure S{sub K*°[gamma]} = -0.21 ± 0.40 ± 0.05 and C{sub K*°[gamma]} = -0.40 ± 0.23 ± 0.03, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. We also explore B° 2!K{sub S}°[pi]°[gamma] decays with 1.1
