We present a study of B{sub s}° decays to the CP-odd final state J/? f0(980) with J/? →??− and f0(980) →?+?−. Using p{bar p} collision data with an integrated luminosity of 3.8 fb−1 collected by the CDF II detector at the Tevatron we measure a B{sub s}° lifetime of? (B{sub s}° → J/? f0(980)) = 1.70{sub -0.11}{sup +0.12}(stat) ± 0.03(syst) ps. This is the first measurement of the B{sub s}° lifetime in a decay to a CP eigenstate and corresponds in the standard model to the lifetime of the heavy B{sub s}° eigenstate. We also measure the product of branching fractions of B{sub s}° → J/? f0(980) and f0(980) →?+?− relative to the product of branching fractions of B{sub s}° → J/?? and? → K+K− to be R{sub f{sub 0}/?} = 0.257 ± 0.020(stat) ± 0.014(syst), which is the most precise determination of this quantity to date.

The results are obtained from a data sample of 123 x 10[sup 6] [Upsilon](4S) [yields] B[bar B] decays. From a time-dependent maximum likelihood fit they measure the branching fraction [Beta](B[sup 0] [yields] f[sub 0](980)([yields][Pi][sup +][pi][sup 0])K[sup 0]) = (6.0 [+-] 0.9 [+-] 0.6 [+-] 1.2) x 10[sup -6], the mixing-induced CP violation parameter S = 1.62[sub -0.51][sup +0.56] [+-] 0.09 [+-] 0.04 and the direct CP violation parameter C = 0.27 [+-] 0.36 [+-] 0.10 [+-] 0.07, where the first errors are statistical, the second systematic and the third due to model uncertainties. They measure the f[sub 0](980) mass and width to be m[sub f[sub 0(980)]] = (980.6 [+-] 4.1 [+-] 0.5 [+-] 4.0) MeV/c[sup 2] and [Lambda][sub f[sub 0(980)]] = (43[sub -9][sup +12] [+-] 3 [+-] 9) MeV/c[sup 2], respectively.

The authors combine the results of CDF and D0 searches for the rare decays B{sub s}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -} and B{sub d}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -}. The experiments use 364 pb{sup -1} and 300 pb{sup -1} of data respectively. The limits on the branching ratios are obtained by normalizing the estimated sensitivity to the decay B{sup +} {yields} J/{psi}K{sup +} taking into account the fragmentation ratios f{sub u}/f{sub s(d)}. The combined results exclude branching ratios of BR(B{sub s}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -})> 1.5 x 10{sup -7} and BR(B{sub d}{sup 0} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -})> 4.0 x 10{sup -8} at 95% confidence level. These are the most stringent limits on these decays at the present time.

We present a measurement of the time-dependent asymmetry in the rate for [anti B][sup 0] versus B[sup 0] decays to J/[psi]K[sup 0][sub s]. The data sample consists of 198 [+-] 17 B[sup 0]/[anti B][sup 0] decays collected by the CDF detector in p[anti p] collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron, where the initial b flavor has been determined by a same-side flavor tagging technique. This asymmetry is interpreted in the Standard Model as a measurement of the CP-violation parameter sin(2[beta]). Our analysis results in sin(2[beta]) = 1:8 [+-] 1:1(stat) [+-] 0:3(syst).
