We have studied the decay[bar B][yields] D[ell][bar[nu]], where[ell]= e or[mu]. From a fit to the differential decay rate d[Lambda]/dw we measure the rate normalization F[sub D](1)V[sub cb] and form factor slope[rho][sub D][sup 2], and, using measured values of[tau][sub B], find[Lambda]([bar B][yields] D[ell][bar[nu]])= (12.0[+-] 0.9[+-] 2.1) ns[sup -1]. The resulting branching fractions are[Beta]([bar B][sup 0][yields] D[sup+][ell][sup -][bar[nu]])= (1.87[+-] 0.15[+-] 0.32)% and[Beta](B[sup -][yields] D[sup 0][ell][sup -][bar[nu]])= (1.94[+-] 0.15[+-] 0.34)%. The form factor parameters are in agreement with those measured in[bar B][yields] D*[ell][bar[nu]] decays, as predicted by heavy quark effective theory.

Using a sample of 2.6 x 10[sup 67][Upsilon](4S)[yields] B[bar B] events collected with the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have measured the form factors for[bar B][sup 0][yields] D*[sup+][ell][sup -][bar[nu]]. We perform a three-parameter fit to the joint distribution of four kinematic variables to obtain the form factor ratios R[sub 1]= 1.18[+-] 0.30[+-] 0.12 and R[sub 2]= 0.71[+-] 0.22[+-] 0.07; and the form-factor slope[rho][sub A[sub 1]][sup 2]= 0.91[+-] 0.15[+-] 0.06, which is closely related to the slope of the Isgur-Wise function. The form factor ratios are consistent with predicted corrections to the heavy-quark symmetry limit of R[sub 1]= R[sub 2]= 1.

We report the results of a study of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decay, B° →?−l?, undertaken with approximately 227 million B{bar B} pairs collected at the?(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses events in which the signal B decays are reconstructed with an innovative loose neutrino reconstruction technique. We obtain partial branching fractions in 12 bins of q2, the momentum transfer squared, from which we extract the f+(q2) form-factor shape and the total branching fraction?(B° →?−l+?) = (1.46 ± 0.07{sub stat} ± 0.08{sub syst}) x 10−4. Based on a recent unquenched lattice QCD calculation of the form factor in the range q2> 16 GeV2, we find the magnitude of the CKM matrix element.

We report a measurement of the branching fractions of {bar B} 2!D** l−{bar {nu}}{sub l} decays based on 417 fb−1 of data collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ee− storage rings. Events are selected by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons in a hadronic decay mode. A fit to the invariant mass differences m(D{sup (*)})-m(D{sup (*)}) is performed to extract the signal yields of the different D** states. We observe the {bar B} 2!D**{ell}−{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}} decay modes corresponding to the four D** states predicted by Heavy Quark Symmetry with a significance greater than six standard deviations including systematic uncertainties.
