This thesis describes a measurement of the branching fraction Br (B0s → Ds*Ds*) made using a data sample collected from proton-antiproton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV, corresponding to approximately 1.3 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected in 2002--2006 by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. One D*s meson was partially reconstructed in the decay Ds → ??v, and the other D*s meson was identified using the decay Ds → ?? where no attempt was made to distinguish Ds and D*s states. The resulting measurement is Br (B0s → Ds*Ds*) = 0.039+0.019-0.017(stat) +0.016-0.015(syst). This was subsequently used to estimate the width difference ??CPs in the B0s-$ar{B}$0s system: ??CPs/?s = 0.079+0.038-0.035(stat)+0.031-0.030(syst), and is currently one of the most precise estimates of this quantity and consistent with the Standard Model.

The authors present a measurement of R{sub B}, the ratio of the branching fraction for the rare decay D° → K?− to that for the Cabibbo-favored decay D° → K−?+. Charge conjugate decays are implicitly included. A signal of 2005 ± 104 events for the decay D° → K+?− is obtained using the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 0.35 fb−1 produced in {bar p}p collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV. Assuming no mixing, they find R{sub B} = [4.05 ± 0.21(stat) ± 0.11(syst)] x 10−3. This measurement is consistent with the world average, and comparable in accuracy with the best measurements from other experiments.

Presented is a precise measurement of the $ar{B}$0 → D*+l-$ar{v}$l branching fraction using 81.47 fb-1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e+e- storage ring at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The measurement was performed by partially reconstructing the D*+ meson from $ar{B}$0 → D*+l-$ar{v}$l decays using only the soft pion of the D*+ → D0?+ decay to reconstruct its four vector. The branching fraction was measured to be ?($ar{B}$0 → D*+l-$ar{v}$l) = (4.91 ± 0.01stat ± 0.15syst)%.

Using 355 pb−1 of data collected by the CDF II detector in p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron, they study the fully reconstructed hadronic decays B{sub (s)}° → D{sub (s)}−? and B{sub (s)}° → D{sub (s)}−?+?+?−. They present the first measurement of the ratio of branching fractions?(B{sub s}° → D{sub s}−?+?+?−)/?(B° → D−?+?+?−) = 1.05 ± 0.10(stat.) ± 0.22(syst.). They also update their measurement of?(B{sub s}° → D{sub s}−?+)/?(B° → D−?+) to 1.13 ± 0.08(stat.) ± 0.23(syst.) improving the statistical uncertainty by more than a factor of two. They find?(B{sub s}° → D{sub s}−?+) = [3.8 ± 0.3(stat.) ± 1.3(syst.)] x 10−3 and?(B{sub s}° → D{sub s}−?+?+?−) = [8.4 ± 0.8(stat.) ± 3.2(syst.)] x 10−3.

The measurement of B$0top{s}$ mixing is one of the flagship analyses for the Run II B physics program. The sensitivity of the measurement to the frequency of B$0top{s}$ oscillations strongly depends on the number of reconstructed B$0top{s}$ mesons. They present the measurement of the ratio of branching fractions Br(B$0top{s}$ → D$-top{s}$?+)/Br(B0 → D-?+), which directly influences the number of B$0top{s}$ events available for the measurement of B$0top{s}$ mixing at CDF-II. They analyze 115 pb-1 of data collected with the CDF-II detector in p$ar{p}$ collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using a novel displaced track trigger. They reconstruct 78 ± 11 B$0top{s}$ → D$-top{s}$?+ decays at 1153 ± 45 B0 → D-?+ decays with good signal to background ratio. This is the world's largest sample of fully reconstructed B$0top{s}$ → D$-top{s}$?+ decays. They find the ratio of production fractions multiplied by the ratio of branching fractions to be: fs/fd • Br(B$0top{s}$ → D$-top{s}$?+)/Br(B0 → D-?+) = 0.325 ± 0.046(stat) ± 0.034(syst) ± 0.084 (BR). Using the world average value of fs/fd = 0.26 ± 0.03, we infer that the ratio of branching fractions is: Br(B$0top{s}$ → D$-top{s}$?+)/Br(B0 → D-?+) = 1.25 ± 0.18(stat) ± 0.13(syst) ± 0.32(BR) ± 0.14(PR) where the last uncertainty is due to the uncertainty on the world average measurement of the ratio of B$0top{s}$ to B0 production rates, fs/fd.

The authors present a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay B− → D° K{sup *-} using a sample of approximately 86 million B{bar B} pairs collected by the BABAR detector from ee− collisions near the?(4S) resonance. The D° is detected through its decays to K−?+, K−?+?° and K−?+?−?+, and the K{sup *-} through its decay to K{sub S}°?−. They measure the branching fraction to be?(B− → D°K{sup *-}) = (6.3 ± 0.7(stat.)±0.5(syst.)) x 10−4.
