The angular distributions and the differential branching fraction of the decay B0→K*(892)0?+?- are studied using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.5 fb-1 collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV. Additionally, from 1430 signal decays, the forward–backward asymmetry of the muons, the K*(892)0 longitudinal polarization fraction, and the differential branching fraction are determined as a function of the dimuon invariant mass squared. Our measurements are among the most precise to date and are in good agreement with standard model predictions.

We present measurements of the decays B[sup 0][yields] D[sub s][sup (*)+] D*[sup -], using data recorded by the BABAR detector in 1999 and 2000, consisting of 20.8 fb[sup -1]. The analysis is conducted with a partial reconstruction technique, in which only the D[sub s][sup (*)+] and the soft pion from the D*[sup -] decay are reconstructed. From the observed rates, we measure the branching fractions[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -])= (1.03[+-] 0.14[+-] 0.13[+-] 0.26)% and[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -])= (1.97[+-] 0.15[+-] 0.30[+-] 0.49)%, where the first error is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is the error due to the D[sub s][sup+][yields][phi][pi][sup+] branching fraction uncertainty. From the[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -]) angular distributions, we measure the fraction of longitudinal polarization[Lambda][sub L]/[Lambda]= (51.9[+-] 5.0[+-] 2.8)%, which is consistent with the theoretical prediction, based on factorization. These results are preliminary.

With a sample of about 227 million B[bar B] pairs recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring the authors perform a full angular analysis of the decay B[sup 0] --> [phi]K*[sup 0](892). They measure the branching fraction to be (9.2 [+-] 0.9 [+-] 0.5) x 10[sup 06] and determine the fractions of longitudinal and parity-odd transverse contributions as f[sub L] = 0.52 [+-] 0.05 [+-] 0.02 and F[sub [perpendicular]] = 0.22 [+-] 0.05 [+-] 0.02, respectively. The phases of the parity-even and parity-odd transverse amplitudes relative to the longitudinal amplitude are found to be [phi][sub [parallel]] = 2.34[sub -0.20][sup +0.23] [+-] 0.05 rad and [phi][sub [perpendicular]] = 2.47 [+-] 0.25 [+-] 0.05 rad, respectively. The authors measure five CP asymmetries which provide important limits on CP violation originating from new physics. They also observe the decay B[sup 0] --> [phi]K*[sup 0](1430).

The authors present model-independent measurements of the branching fractions[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -]) and[Beta](D[sub s][sup+][yields][phi][pi][sup+]) based on 19.3 fb[sup -1] of data collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e[sup+]e[sup -] B Factory. Neutral B-meson decays to the D*[sub s][sup+]D*[sup -] final state are selected with a partial reconstruction of the D*[sub s][sup+]; that is, only the D*[sup -] and the soft photon from the decay D*[sub s][sup+][yields] D[sub s][sup+][gamma] are reconstructed. The branching fraction[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -]) is extracted from these event yields, while[Beta](D[sub s][sup+][yields][phi][pi][sup+]) is determined by combining this result with a previous measurement of the product[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -]) x[Beta](D[sub s][sup+][yields][phi][pi][sup+]) with partial reconstruction of the D*[sup -]. They obtain the following preliminary results:[Beta](B[sup 0][yields] D*[sub s][sup+] D*[sup -])= (1.50[+-] 0.16[+-] 0.12)%, [Beta](D[sub s][sup+][yields][phi][pi][sup+])= (4.7[+-] 0.6[+-] 0.8)% where the first error is statistical, and the second systematic.

In the Standard Model, CP violation in weak interactions involving quarks is parameterized by an irreducible complex phase in the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) quark-mixing-matrix. The precise determination of the CKM elements is a necessary ingredient for a stringent test of the Standard Model predictions, and is a crucial input for reducing the theoretical error in many New Physics searches with flavor, e.g., in the kaon sector. The unitarity of the CKM matrix is typically expressed as a triangle relationship among its parameters, where the area of the so-called Unitarity Triangle visually depicts the amount of asymmetry between the decays of B particles and their antimatter counterparts. In the past few years, the BABAR and Belle experiments have been able to measure all three angles of the triangle from CP asymmetry measurements. The first asymmetry measurements in B particle decays, about ten years ago, allowed to determine ?, which is now known to better than 5% precision. The angles ? and ?, measured in much rarer processes, required several years of data taking before analyses could yield reliable answers. A remarkable feature is that the direct measurement of the angles of the Unitarity Triangle generates an area that is consistent with the area predicted by measurement of the sides. In this thesis we have presented the branching fraction measurements of charged and neutral B meson decays to K1(1270)? and K1(1400)?, obtained from a data sample of 454 million ?(4S) → B$ar{B}$ events. This analysis is particularly challenging from the experimental side since the branching fractions involved are very low, at the level of 10-6 - 10-7, and the signal is characterized by the simultaneous presence of two overlapping resonances, which exhibit sizeable interference effects. The combined K1(1270)? and K1(1400)? signal is therefore modeled with a K-matrix formalism, which accounts for the effects of interference between the K1(1270) and K1(1400) mesons by introducing two effective parameters. The model is derived from the analysis, performed by the ACCMOR Collaboration, of the diffractive production of strange mesons.
