Measuring Innovation In Energy Technologies Green Patents As Captured By Wipo S Ipc Green Inventory written by World Intellectual Property Organization and has been published by WIPO this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017 with Law categories.

We analyze inventions in green energy technologies over the period 2005-2017. We use a novel dataset, making use of the IPC Green Inventory of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to analyze four broad categories of green energy technologies including alternative energy production technologies, energy conservation technologies, and green transportation. We use these data to look at how patent families and PCT international patent applications have evolved in this field in recent years. We find that energy innovation-related patenting has first expanded exponentially up until 2013, both in terms of the total number of patent families and PCT international patent applications in green energy technologies. Yet this period of accelerated growth in the number of published green energy patents has been followed by a period of deceleration—even a slow decline. Although most green energy technologies have seen a downward trend in the annual number of patents published since 2012, the decline has been most pronounced in nuclear power generation technologies and alternative energy production technologies. The latter notably include renewable energy technologies, such as solar and wind energy, and fuel cells. In contrast, patents in energy conservation technologies and green transportation technologies have continued to grow, but at a slower pace.

Valuing Corporate Innovation written by Gunther Friedl and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-06 with Business & Economics categories.

This book presents tools for valuing and controlling corporate innovation. It combines a well-established theoretical framework with case studies at Siemens that illustrate the practice of valuing and controlling innovation and underline the strong link between theoretical concepts and practical application. Innovation is a key factor determining the success of companies and since corporate innovation consumes large quantities of resources, the issue of how best to distribute these resources among different projects is crucial. For an optimal resource allocation, companies need valuation tools to assess the benefits, costs and risks of competing projects. The energy sector is an example of a market that is strongly driven by innovation, and as such the book describes the processes and the potential of digitalizing product development and outlines the valuation process for a long-term innovation project in this sector – the development of the latest Siemens gas turbine.

Developing a system that can cope with variations of system or control parameters, measurement uncertainty, and complex, multi-objective optimization criteria is a frequent problem in engineering systems design. The need for a priori knowledge and the inability to learn from past experience make the design of robust, adaptive, and stable systems a difficult task. Innovation in Power, Control, and Optimization: Emerging Energy Technologies unites research on the development of techniques and methodologies to improve the performance of power systems, energy planning and environments, controllers and robotics, operation research, and modern artificial computational intelligent techniques. Containing research on power engineering, control systems, and methods of optimization, this book is written for professionals who want to improve their understanding of strategic developments in the area of power, control, and optimization.
