Meet me by the Rainbow is an engaging collection of stories about two, darling chipmunks, Billy, and Suzy. They live on Rainbow Island, an enchanted place where there’s always a pretty rainbow in the sky. One day it disappears. Billy wants to find it, but Suzy cautions Billy, afraid for him. He doesn't listen and sets off on a dangerous adventure across the sea. Amidst a violent storm, Henry, a crane, rescues him and becomes his new friend. They don't know that Slizzin, a dark sorcerer, is nearby with evil spells to cast. Together, they must defeat him and restore the rainbow to its former glory. The adventures don't stop there, because, in a place of magic, dragonflies turn to dragons, and fireflies turn to fairies. When a tiny pixie tells Billy and his friends to fly away, they leave home and travel across the sea. Once they arrive on the other side, they make a new friend, Luna, a cat who takes them to visit a house. After they are inside, they find it full of unforeseen surprises. They must escape and discover they can survive without the help of rainbow magic. Through these and other adventures, Billy and Suzie learn to appreciate their entranced world, which they share with their family and friends.

Meet Me at the Rainbow Bridge begins with a tragic accident in which a careless driver backs up 25 yards without looking, pinning Dr. Newman and his beloved Labrador, Gracie, between his family station wagon and the driver's bumper. Dr. Newman's life story is narrated in retrospect, emphasizing the importance of the dogs that have shared his life. It is furthermore an appeal to the hearts and minds of pet owners that the legal status of pets must be elevated above the level of mere property, the status they are now granted in our legal system. Ninety percent of pet owners now consider their pets to be family members. The owner of a pet that is killed through an accidental act of negligence or a deliberate act of malice can only receive the cash value for their pet. Dr. Newman presents his view that the laws of the land are out of touch with the public's sentiment.

London, 1944. The air raid sirens are blaring, the bombers are hovering. England has been at war with Germany for four years, and there's no sign of peace coming. Dot Gallagher, newly arrived from Liverpool to offer her services as a nurse, hurries from her Red Cross hostel to the tube station to join the crowds of people taking shelter. A group of GIs have started dancing around a wind-up gramophone, and it doesn't take long for Dot to join them. As she jives along with one of the American soldiers, he tells her about Rainbow Corner, a social club in Piccadilly for US troops. There is always a demand for dance hostesses there, women who know how to jitterbug and rock'n'roll, to dance with the soldiers. Would Dot like to apply? As Dot discovers, Rainbow Corner is like no other place, an oasis in London where, once inside, the constraints of wartime Britain disappear. There is no rationing, all luxuries are available, including a constant stream of donuts, chewing gum and cola. There are restaurants and cafes, boxing matches and movies, and, much to Dot's delight, a huge dance hall. Rather like an Embassy, Rainbow Corner is essentially a plot of America in central London. It is there that Dot becomes firm friends with many of the other hostesses, and in particular with Lilly, who works for the Colonel. Meet Me at Rainbow Corner follows the lives of Dot, Lilly and their friends, as they dance the nights away, fall in and out of love, and navigate the horrors of war. Lilly goes on a secret mission with her Colonel to France, and Dot becomes pregnant and returns to Liverpool. When the war is over, they are re-united, having travelled by boat to the US with countless other war brides to meet their repatriated fiancés again. Along the way, they uncover a case of inside espionage and learn the true meaning of love. Praise for Meet Me At Rainbow Corner: 'Utterly charming and engrossing' - Joanna Lumley 'Hugely enjoyable and meticulously researched... A must for anyone who likes wartime novels with a difference' - Rosie Goodwin 'From the first to the last page, I was captivated by this brilliant novel, and simply didn't want it to end' - Jenny Ashcroft 'A beautiful book about friendship, romance and courage set against a background of war and peril. I loved it' - Sue Cleaver 'Thoroughly enjoyable! A meticulously researched and deeply evocative snapshot of the experiences of a group of feisty and determined women, who became GI Brides in World War 2' - Fiona Valpy

The novel is based on a true story, which Sirias researched while visiting Nicaragua. He is personified as a professor spending the summer near his parents birthplace, where he hears the story of the lesbian lovers, and attempts to reconstruct the days before and after Adelas demise. By means of his interviews, the reader comes to know Adelas family, her former lover (who feared for Adelas safety), Adelas former husband (who never dreamed that being a lesbian would get her killed), and Adelas magnetic and stunningly beautiful lover Ixelia, who was prostituted by her mother at age 11.

With her drum and the Songs of Intention and Celebration author Tritia Hamilton has been keeping an appointment with the sunrise each morning for more than seven years. The songs beckon, smooth the pathway and celebrate our arrival into the New Garden Earth. From an island on the coastline of Maine to the high desert in the American Southwest and back to coastal Maine once again, Golden Pebbles traces an adventure of discovery which began while journeying to the sound of a Native American drumming rhythm. It was a journey from which I emerged astonished. I heard singing, I said to the drummer. You heard the voices of the ancestors, he replied quietly. The ancestor voices stirred a memory into the past, and into the future -- multiple layers converging in now. Eventually there were songs to sing -- to the heartbeat rhythm of the drum. Golden Pebbles is the story behind the ceremonial songs, the sunrise drumming ceremonies and the joyful radiating of a cohesive intention and direction. The lyrics for three dozen Songs of Intention and Celebration are included in Golden Pebbles. For more information about the songs, see: www.goldenpebblepathway.me

The poetry herein shows, first and foremost, my own great faith in God in all circumstances. Ive always realized that my life was in Gods hands, but my faith became stronger and more notable at the time these poems began to come into being. In all, the poems reflect my personal journey with God, a reflection of where I have been and where I am now.

Longlisted for the Porchlight Business Book Awards “A smart and accessible cultural history.”-Los Angeles Times A portrait--by turns celebratory, skeptical, and surprisingly moving--of one of America's most iconic institutions, from an author who “might be the most influential design critic writing now” (LARB). Few places have been as nostalgized, or as maligned, as malls. Since their birth in the 1950s, they have loomed large as temples of commerce, the agora of the suburbs. In their prime, they proved a powerful draw for creative thinkers such as Joan Didion, Ray Bradbury, and George Romero, who understood the mall's appeal as both critics and consumers. Yet today, amid the aftershocks of financial crises and a global pandemic, as well as the rise of online retail, the dystopian husk of an abandoned shopping center has become one of our era's defining images. Conventional wisdom holds that the mall is dead. But what was the mall, really? And have rumors of its demise been greatly exaggerated? In her acclaimed The Design of Childhood, Alexandra Lange uncovered the histories of toys, classrooms, and playgrounds. She now turns her sharp eye to another subject we only think we know. She chronicles postwar architects' and merchants' invention of the mall, revealing how the design of these marketplaces played an integral role in their cultural ascent. In Lange's perceptive account, the mall becomes newly strange and rich with contradiction: Malls are environments of both freedom and exclusion--of consumerism, but also of community. Meet Me by the Fountain is a highly entertaining and evocative promenade through the mall's rise, fall, and ongoing reinvention, for readers of any generation.
