Pedro Salinas (1892-1951), one of the greatest modern poets of any country, is unquestionably the preeminent love poet of twentieth-century Spain. Memory in My Hands includes an ample selection of his three books of love poetry - The Voice I Owe to You [La voz a ti debida], A Reason for Love [Razón de amor], and Long Lament [Largo lamento] in English translation alongside the Spanish original. This trilogy of love poems, the last (posthumous) of which has never been translated before, are of a nature to win a large and devoted audience: they are at once passionate, eloquent, and whimsical. The introduction to Memory in My Hands sets the poems in context, providing the story of the love affair that inspired the poems. It also raises the question of the nature of autobiographical poetry and considers this collection in the tradition of poetic sequences such as Philip Sidney's Astrophil and Stella.

This is a detailed, clear, simple, and interesting academic and intellectual trip into neuron, axons, synapses, and their bases in memory formation and learning. The author goes after the origin of his first primordial memory in an attempt to find and nurture his own identity and personality. Memories can be categorized as working memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory. In addition, we have conscious, unconscious, toxic, automatic, and uncategorized memory, such as adoptive memory in the immune system—puzzling but challenging memory during matching nucleotides and amino acids. T-cells memory recognize, identify, and destroy pathogens among billions of cells, genes, and proteins packaging for self-protection and function. Long-term unconscious memory is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to cognitive memory. Further exploring his initial objective—the primordial memory—the author encounters the electrical and chemical reactions coming under the domain of genes without ignoring DNA. Last but not least is memory of love, from birth till death. It is encoded in a memory that encompasses my whole body.

Memory In Vergil S Aeneid written by Aaron M. Seider and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-09-12 with History categories.

Tracing the path from Troy's destruction to Rome's foundation, the Aeneid explores the transition between past and future. As the Trojans struggle to found a new city and the narrator sings of his audience's often-painful history, memory becomes intertwined with a crucial leitmotif: the challenge of being part of a group that survives violence and destruction only to face the daunting task of remembering what was lost. This book offers a new reading of the Aeneid that engages with critical work on memory and questions the prevailing view that Aeneas must forget his disastrous history in order to escape from a cycle of loss. Considering crucial scenes such as Aeneas' reconstruction of Celaeno's prophecy and his slaying of Turnus, this book demonstrates that memory in the Aeneid is a reconstructive and dynamic process, one that offers a social and narrative mechanism for integrating a traumatic past with an uncertain future.
