Tenaga Kerja Indonesia Perempuan (TKIP) ke luar negeri sebagai pekerja rumah tangga termasuk merawat anak, dialami oleh sejumlah negara lain, merupakan fenomena global care chain. Dalam fenomena tersebut ada pergeseran peran perempuan/istri menjadi pencari nafkah utama untuk menyelamatkan ekonomi keluarga dengan konsekuensi di antaranya meninggalkan anak bahkan bayi berusia ‘nol bulan’. Ironisnya, meskipun suami bisa menjadi pengasuh bagi anak mereka, namun sedikit sekali yang melakukannya. Hal tersebut merupakan bentuk ketidakadilan dari global care chain dalam budaya patriarkhi yang tidak diperhitungkan oleh TKIP dan keluarganya, maupun oleh para pembuat kebijakan. Kerugian yang diderita anak TKIP tersebut seharusnya bisa dikonversikan dengan jaminan kesejahteraan sosial bagi anak TKIP, yang dibayar oleh majikan dan atau oleh negara, yang seharusnya terintegrasi dalam blue print kebijakan TKI secara komprehensif. Pesantren dan komunitas bisa menjadi alternatif bagi pengasuhan anak TKIP namun belum ada dukungan, ada pengabaian yang terindikasi pelanggaran HAM (Penulis). “Ini adalah sebuah karya yang penting terkait isu-isu global care... menawarkan gagasan yang menarik ...
