Kiprah sebagai pengajar dimulai di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 1976. Kemudian pindah ke Bandung dan melanjutkan sebagai pengajar di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Padjadjaran pada tahun 1979 hingga sekarang. Beberapa Jabatan Struktural di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Padjadjaran yang telah dijabatnya; sebagai Pembantu Dekan III, bidang kemahasiswaan; Pembantu Dekan I, bidang akademik; Koordinator Program Profesi Psikologi Sarjana + (S1+); Ketua Program Studi Magister Profesi Psikologi; Dekan; Ketua Program studi Doktor. Dalam organisasi, ia aktif di organisasi Profesi Psikologi; sebagai ketua Ikatan Psikologi Perkembangan Indonesia (IPPI) wilayah Jawa Barat; Ketua Majelis Etik Himpunan Psikologi Indonesia (HIMPSI) wilayah Jawa Barat; majelis Etik HMPSI Pusat. Sebagai seorang praktisi di bidang psikologi, sejak tahun 1980 hingga sekarang ia melakukan praktek sebagai Psikolog klinis anak dan remaja.
