“Buku Meneliti dan Menulis Kajian-Kajian Lokal Pendidikan IPS” merupakan hasil kolaborasi antara Dr. Mutiani, S.Pd., M.Pd. dan Prof. Dr. Ersis Warmansyah Abbas, BA, M.Pd., dua tokoh terkemuka di bidang pendidikan. Kisah penuh ragu dan kegembiraan ini dimulai ketika mereka dihubungi untuk menerbitkan buku ini pada Rapat Kerja APRIPSI 2024 di UIN Mataram. Proses awalnya diwarnai oleh keraguan, menyadari bahwa menyiapkan naskah untuk dibukukan dan diterbitkan tidaklah mudah, namun di tengah-tengah semua itu, terpancarlah kegembiraan dan kebanggaan atas peluang untuk menerbitkan sebuah karya. Melalui diskusi singkat yang intens, mereka mengumpulkan tulisan dan artikel pilihan, yang kemudian diolah, disusun, dan di-layout dengan seksama, menciptakan sebuah dummy buku yang diberi judul “Meneliti dan Menulis Kajian-Kajian Lokal Pendidikan IPS”. Proses ini tidak hanya mencengangkan, tetapi juga sangat menyenangkan, membuktikan bahwa naskah buku dapat berkembang dengan cepat melalui kerja keras dan kolaborasi yang efektif. Kehebatan proses tersebut membuat mereka terkagum-kagum akan kekuatan kolaborasi dan dedikasi. Lebih menakjubkan lagi, mereka mendapatkan informasi bahwa buku tersebut akan diterbitkan pada bulan April 2024, suatu kejutan mengingat mereka hanya diberitahu pada pertengahan Desember 2023. Ternyata, Dr. Mutiani dan Prof. Dr. Ersis bukan hanya memiliki kehebatan sebagai pemikir produktif dalam bentuk artikel, tetapi juga telah menerbitkan hampir 20 buku. Produktivitas mereka seolah tak terbatas. Khusus untuk Prof. Dr. Ersis, yang tidak hanya dikenal sebagai penulis produktif tetapi juga sebagai Ketua Umum APRIPSI, mereka menyampaikan rasa terima kasih yang mendalam atas kesigapan dan dedikasinya yang luar biasa dalam menjadikan buku “Meneliti dan Menulis Kajian-Kajian Lokal Pendidikan IPS” terwujud dan segera terbit. Sebagaimana sering diutarakan, pesan untuk tidak menunda-nunda dalam penulisan buku menjadi sangat relevan. Mereka menegaskan bahwa jika ada ide, kerjakanlah dan terbitkan, tanpa perlu bernegosiasi dengan hal-hal yang dapat menghambat proses penerbitan. Pengalaman mereka sendiri menjadi pembelajaran nyata akan pentingnya mengambil tindakan untuk mewujudkan ide menjadi karya nyata.
