Buku ini berisi kumpulan kasus-kasus etika bisnis dan akuntansi yang terjadi di berbagai Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN). Salah satu faktor utama yang mendorong penerbitan buku ini adalah kurangnya bahan ajar yang berupa kasus-kasus etika bisnis dan akuntansi di Indonesia. Padahal, dalam pembela-jaran etika bisnis dan akuntansi, pendekatan kasus sangat penting dan diyakini dapat meningkatkan sensitivitas etika yang merupakan prasyarat perilaku etis (Velasquez, 2014). Kekurangan bahan ajar berupa kasus-kasus di Indonesia tersebut menyebabkan materi yang dipakai dalam pembelajaran etika bisnis dan akuntansi sebagian besar adalah kasus-kasus yang terjadi di luar negeri. Hal ini bisa menyebabkan pembelajaran kurang efektif karena mahasiswa tidak bisa menghayati secara mendalam kasus yang terjadi. Akibat lebih lanjut adalah sensitivitas etika kurang terasah dengan tajam, diskusi tidak mendalam karena konteks kurang dipahami dengan baik, dan solusi yang diberikan belum tentu relevan. Buku ini cocok digunakan sebagai pendamping buku teks etika bisnis dan akuntansi, baik di tingkat sarjana maupun pascasarjana (magister). Terkait dengan penggunaan buku ini dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah Etika Bisnis dan Akuntansi, beberapa hal yang perlu didiskusikan antara lain: (1) apa saja isu-isu etika yang ada dalam masing-masing kasus; (2) bagaimana analisis atas isu-isu tersebut menggunakan perspektif utilitarianisme (utilitarianism), keadilan (justice), hak (right), dan keutamaan (virtue); (3) siapa saja pihak yang mungkin memengaruhi dan dipengaruhi (stakeholders) oleh isu-isu tersebut; dan (4) bagaimana mencegah hal-hal yang tidak etis tersebut terulang lagi.
