Secara sosial-budaya, saat ikhtiar kuat untuk mengembalikan peradaban Islam maka harus dimulai dari pendidikan yang utuh dan terpadu bukan sekuler dan dikhotomi antara pendidikan dan agama. Harapannya akan muncul kembali motivasi untuk mendalami sains guna menopang keagamaan. Lebih jauh, upaya mendalami sains yang terpadu dengan agama akan melahirkan ilmuwan yang ulul albab (Qur’an Surat ali-Imran ayat 191), serasi antara zikir dengan pikir sehingga terwujud sosok yang taqwa kepada Allah (Qur’an Surat Fathir ayat 28). Buku ini ditulis dengan menggunakan metode Maudhu’i dalam konteks upaya memadukan ayat-ayat sains dan materi kurikulum sains di sekolah. Selain itu, tulisan ini berupaya mencari persamaan dan perbandingan antara ayat-ayat kawniyyat dalam Al-Qur'an dan kurikulum sains, yang kemudian mengumpulkan menjadi sebuah integrasi materi. Sehingga dapat dihasilkan suatu cara atau pedoman bagi guru, siswa, dan para mahasiswa, dalam mengintegrasikan Al-Qur'an dan materi pelajaran kurikulum sains pada tingkat sekolah pendidikan dasar dan menengah serta Perguruan Tinggi. Penulisan buku ini juga mengkaji melalui tiga aspek. Pertama, menganalisis ayat-ayat kawniyyat yang ada dalam Al-Qur'an dan yang relevan dengan pembahasan, kedua, menganalisis pembelajaran kurikulum sains yang berkaitan dengan ayat-ayat kawniyyat, ketiga, mengintegrasikannya ayat-ayat kawniyyat dalam Al-Qur'an terhadap materi kurikulum sains, kemudian dipadukan melalui kurikulum sains dalam Al-Qur'an. Kehadiran buku ini, sangat penting untuk menjawab kompetensi para siswa, mahasiswa, dan guru pada pendidikan dasar dan menengah dalam mengintegrasikan ayat-ayat kawniyyat dalam Al-Qur'an terhadap materi kurikulum sains di sekolah. Penyusunan buku ini juga didasari praanggapan bahwa salah satu wujud peningkatan kualitas pemahaman dan keterampilan sains dalam Al-Qur'an yang memiliki artinya pengembangan bahan ajar oleh staf pengajar sesuai dengan spesialisasi ilmu yang digelutinya dalam bentuk buku.
