Oleh karena itu, diperlukan manajemen diri di kalangan masyarakat khususnya kelompok dewasa dengan masalah hipertensi. Penerapan manajemen diri hipertensi pada kelompok dewasa memerlukan pendampingan secara berkelanjutan oleh tenaga kesehatan salah satunya perawat. Peran perawat sebagai pemberi asuhan keperawatan, pendidik, dan konselor merupakan bagian penting dalam penanganan masalah hipertensi, melalui peran tersebut perawat dapat merancang dan memberikan berbagai intervensi keperawatan kepada kelompok dewasa dalam mencegah, menangani, dan mengendalikan masalah hipertensinya.
