MERE WORDS reflects raw unspoken thoughts and emotions that are often kept buried within the depths of our souls. Emotions that we have all experienced yet dared not speak of. Throughout my life I have faced many challenges, from physical failure of my own body, to the addictions to drugs and alcohol with loved ones; all of which caused me to endure physical, mental and emotional abuse from those relationships. Although I may get knocked down, I never stay down. I fought back using words as my weapons; using the feelings that have brought me to this point and time in my life as I am here writing this book for you. I have always been a quiet person, and have always found my voice in writing. An open window you might say to my soul; a place with no judgments, or prejudice, a place to just be able to describe the world and those around me. Sometimes to find peace, sometimes to find answers, sometimes just to capture the moment. I hope you find a little something here for yourself, and I hope it makes you want to share what you've found.

LIFE And other things is a collection of 199 poems, driven by the emotions that make us human. Heartfelt and poignant, sometimes light and often deep. The book walks barefoot and bravely through the writer's thoughts. You will find an abundance of feelings that echo life. The energy of love, the deflation of loss, the spark of life, the embers of death and much, much more. Beware: some of the poems are very personal and many are mirrors. If the meaning of life can be defined by mere words Then it's surely here, in the pages of this book.

Subjectivity In Troubadour Poetry written by Sarah Kay and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1990-09-28 with Literary Criticism categories.

The songs of the troubadour poets of the south of France were a pervasive influence in the development of the European lyric (and indeed other genres) from the twelfth century to the Renaissance and beyond. Much troubadour poetry is on the topic of love, and is composed from a first-person position. This book is a full-length study of this first-person subject position in its relation to language and society. Using theoretical approaches where appropriate, Sarah Kay discusses to what extent this first person is a 'self' or 'character', and how far it is self-determining. Dr Kay draws on a wide range of troubadour texts, and provides close readings of many of them, as well as translating all medieval quotations into English in order to make the discussion accessible to the non-specialist. Her book will be of interest both to scholars of medieval literature, and to anybody investigating subjectivity in lyric poetry.

Be Thou My Song written by Kerri L Tom and has been published by New Reformation Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-03-12 with Poetry categories.

"Be Thou my Song" is a line from seventeenth-century poet Edward Taylor. In his meditation on Philippians 2:9, Taylor finds that his ability to compose poetry falls short of his desire to glorify God, so he prays, “ That I thy glorious Praise may Trumpet right, / Be thou my Song, and make Lord, mee thy Pipe.” In one way or another, all of the poets included in the chapters of Be Thou My Song strive to convey their wonder for God' s unending grace and mercy in their own limited ways; He provides the content, the song, while the writers are merely the conduits, the pipe. By reading these poems carefully, we can share in their gratitude for how God cares for us, both here on earth and in our final heavenly home.In each chapter, you will find a poem, presented in its entirety, followed by an exploration of that poem and some questions to contemplate afterwards. The goal of these explorations is to provide readers with a deeper appreciation, a deeper understanding, and a deeper love of what each poet has given to us.

Yeats S Poetry And Poetics written by Michael J. Sidnell and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-22 with Literary Criticism categories.

Yeats's Poetry and Poetics brings together some of the finest Yeats criticism ever published, together with some new pieces specially written for this volume. Spanning the whole of Yeats's career, the essays are organised into three main parts. The first deals with Yeats's concern with the speaking voice and its bearing on public and private readings of his verse; and on his use of certain kinds of images in his poetry and plays, from ghosts and fairies, to figures borrowed from painters and sculptors and, extraordinarily, to the actual dancer for whom he makes room in his work. The second section puts Yeats's poetry in context with the work of Synge, D.H. Lawrence, Walter de la Mare and other 'Georgians', and with that of T.S. Eliot and other modernists; assessing the continuities (real and asserted) in Yeats's long poetic career against the revolutions in the poetry of his time. The profound connections between the writings of Yeats and Joyce, including the coupling of Finnegans's Wake and 'The Wanderings of Oisin' are also examined. Rounding off the volume 'Phantasmagoria', explores the implications for his poetics of Yeats's spiritualist philosophy, especially in terms of his conception of the poetic self, and, finally, the last section analyses two works animated by Yeats's quest for the 'faery bride' and his desperate attempt to attract, through his work, a real one.
