In realtà questo oltre ad essere un libro, è anche una raccolta di illustrazioni feline, attorno alle quali sono costruiti i racconti, basati sull'immaginario gattesco, pubblicati originariamente nei calendari della Gatteria ®, dal 2003 al 2020. I diciotto racconti sono ripresi integralmente, mentre le 100 immagini a piena pagina rappresentano una buona selezione delle 200 pubblicate. Non diversi episodi dello stesso personaggio, ma brevi racconti con ambientazioni tutte diverse, dove il gatto fa da protagonista. Attenzione, le immagini non sono fotografie di gatti, come la quasi totalità dei "libri di gatti" che troverete offerti, parecchie centinaia, se non migliaia. Ma sono dipinti, realizzati interamente a mano, con metodi tradizionali, senza elaborazioni elettroniche. L'autrice, Evelyne Nicod, è conosciuta da trent'anni per le sue immagini e le sue incisioni ad acquaforte; di quest'ultime ne ha realizzate più di 300, stampate "à poupée" su un tradizionale torchio a stella. E da 30 anni, le sue immagini sono state utilizzate per prodotti commerciali, calendari, segnalibri, agende, carte da gioco, tarocchi, biglietti d'auguri, sottobicchieri, T-shirt ... sotto il marchio Gatteria. Italian cinema is now regarded as one of the great cinemas of the world. Historically, however, its fortunes have varied. Following a brief moment of glory in the early silent era, Italian cinema appeared to descend almost into irrelevance in the early1920s. A strong revival of the industry which gathered pace during the 1930s was abruptly truncated by the advent of World War II.
