With the rapid expansion of the Asia-Pacific economy in the last decade and the recovery after the recent crisis, severe demands will be placed on energy services and the environment. Coping with the volatile oil prices that persist in the market introduces an additional factor into the energy supply and demand equation, not just for countries in this region but also worldwide. Inevitably there will be implications for environmental issues too. The future will see a continuing challenge to balance growth with sustainability in the economic, social and environmental sectors. This conference, a sequel to the immensely successful APCSEET conferences held in Singapore and Australia, is aimed at meeting that challenge by addressing the pertinent issues related to sustainable energy and environmental protection. It provides a forum for participants from academia, industry and government agencies to interact, report on research in progress, and identify opportunities in the fields of sustainable energy and environmental technologies. The presentations include not only technical issues such as air pollution control, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, renewable energy and cleaner production, but also education and policy issues. Geological Evolution Of Central Asian Basins And The Western Tien Shan Range written by Marie-Franc̦oise Brunet and has been published by Geological Society of London this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-10-10 with Science categories.

The geological evolution of Central Asia commenced with the formation of a complex Precambrian–Palaeozoic orogen. Cimmerian blocks were then accreted to the southern margin in the Mesozoic, leading to tectonic reactivation of older structures and discrete episodes of basin formation. The Indian and Arabian blocks collided with Asia in the Cenozoic, leading to renewed structural reactivation, intracontinental deformation and basin development. This complex evolution resulted in the present-day setting of an elongated Tien Shan range flanked by large Mesozoic–Cenozoic sedimentary basins with smaller intramontane basins distributed within the range. This volume presents multidisciplinary results and reviews from research groups in Europe and Central Asia that focus on the western part of the Tien Shan and some of the adjacent large sedimentary basins. These works elucidate the Late Palaeozoic–Cenozoic tectono-sedimentary evolution of the area. Emphasis is given to the collision of terranes and continents and the ensuing fault reactivations. The impact of climatic changes on sedimentation is also examined.

Separation Of Molecules Macromolecules And Particles written by Kamalesh K. Sirkar and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-16 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Providing chemical engineering undergraduate and graduate students with a basic understanding of how separation of a mixture of molecules, macromolecules or particles is achieved, this textbook is a comprehensive introduction to the engineering science of separation. • Students learn how to apply their knowledge to determine the separation achieved in a given device or process • Real-world examples are taken from biotechnology, chemical, food, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and pollution control industries • Worked examples, elementary separator designs and chapter-end problems are provided, giving students a practical understanding of separation. The textbook systematically develops different separation processes by considering the forces causing the separation and how this separation is influenced by the patterns of bulk flow in the separation device. Readers will be able to take this knowledge and apply it to their own future studies and research in separation and purification. Online resources include solutions to the exercises and guidance for computer simulations.

Granular Filtration Of Aerosols And Hydrosols written by Chi Tien and has been published by Butterworth-Heinemann this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-22 with Science categories.

Granular Filtration of Aerosols and Hydrosols is concerned with the fundamental aspects of granular filtration of both liquid and gas suspensions. This book takes a unifying approach to the treatment of granular aerosol and hydrosol filtration. The text begins with the introduction of the process of granular filtration and its various applications. Subsequent chapters discuss the aspects of filtration, such as, the macroscopic description of fixed-bed granular filtration; the methods for making representations based on various porous media models for both clean and clogged filter media; the mechanisms of particle deposition; and the trajectory analysis of particle deposition. The final chapter presents and discusses case studies which deal with predicting and calculating the dynamic behavior of granular filtration of hydrosols and aerosols. Researchers in granular filtration and graduate students dealing with separation technology will find the book highly useful.

Production And Processing Of Fine Particles written by A. J. Plumpton and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-10-22 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This volume contains the proceedings of an international symposium organised by the Metallurgical Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. The aims of the symposium were to discuss fundamental and practical aspects of the technology for the production of fine inorganic particles for the metals, industrial minerals and advanced ceramics sectors, to highlight particle characterization methods and developments, and to review major advances in the processing and extractive metallurgy of finely-sized minerals. 96 conference papers by authors from 19 countries addressed such topics as particle morphology and size analysis, physical and chemical methods for producing fine particles, processing of minerals using gravity, magnetic and electrostatic separation, flotation and flocculation, phase separation involving fine particles, and the hydrometallurgy and pyroprocessing of fine particles. This book will be of interest to mineral processing scientists and engineers, ceramicists, extractive metallurgists and chemical engineers, who are faced with the increasing significance of inorganic fine particles either as valuable products or as materials to be treated in mineral processing systems.
