Metallomacrocycles written by Hai-Bo Yang and has been published by Royal Society of Chemistry this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-10-05 with Science categories.

The metal-ligand coordination of metallomacrocycles allows for the production of both discrete and infinite metallosupramolecular structures with high-degrees of complexity. In recent years, coordination-driven self-assembly has emerged as a powerful noncovalent synthetic strategy to build discrete supramolecular architectures with diverse coordination moieties such as a well-defined shape, size, and geometry. The dynamic features of the metal-ligand bonds result in structures with intriguing properties allowing for a diverse range of applications in host-guest chemistry, sensing, drug delivery and catalysis. This book provides a comprehensive summary of current research in metallomacrocycles. Starting with an introduction to metallomacrocycles constructed via coordination-driven self-assembly, the book then goes on to explore design principles and self-organization. Subsequent chapters then discuss examples of complex and functional metallosupramolecular systems based on metallomacrocycles such as chiral systems and mechanically interlocked architectures. Finally, the book discusses the applications of metallomacrocycles. An essential resource for students and researchers looking to design and construct new metallosupramolecular systems and extend their applications in biological and materials science.

Porphyrins, phthalocyanines and their numerous analogs and derivatives are materials of tremendous importance in chemistry, materials science, physics, biology and medicine. They comprise the red color in blood (heme) and the green in leaves (chlorophyll); they are also excellent ligands that can coordinate with almost every metal in the Periodic Table. Grounded in natural systems, porphyrins are incredibly versatile and can be modified in many ways; each new modification yields derivatives demonstrating new chemistry, physics and biology, with a vast array of medicinal and technical applications.Because porphyrins are currently employed as platforms for study of theoretical principles and applications in a wide variety of fields, the Handbook of Porphyrin Science represents a timely ongoing series dealing in detail with the synthesis, chemistry, physicochemical and medical properties and applications of polypyrrole macrocycles. It is noteworthy that every year, new applications for tetrapyrrole ligands are developed and exploited.Professors Karl Kadish, Kevin Smith and Roger Guilard are internationally recognized experts in the research field of porphyrinoids, each having his own separate but complementary area of expertise in the field. Between them, they have published over 1750 peer-reviewed papers and jointly edited more than 55 books on diverse topics related to porphyrins and phthalocyanines. In assembling the set of new volumes of this unique handbook, they have selected and attracted the very best scientists in each sub-discipline as contributing authors. The Handbook of Porphyrin Science will prove to be a modern authoritative treatise on the subject as it continues as a collection of up-to-date works by world-renowned experts in the field. Complete with hundreds of figures, tables and structural formulas, and thousands of literature citations, all researchers and graduate students in this field will find it to be an essential, major reference source now, and for many years to come.

In recent years, fluorescent supramolecular materials have received significant attention due to their wide application prospects. However, the relationship between the conformation of supramolecules and their photophysical properties remains an open question. In this study, two rhomboidal metallacycle isomers, SA and SB, self-assembled with trans- and cis-isomers of tetraphenylethylene-based ditopic pyridyl ligands (LA and LB), and a 120° di-platinum (II) acceptor were prepared. Compared with metallacycle SB constructed by cis- tetraphenylethylene (TPE)-based ligand LB, the curved rhomboidal metallacycle SA constructed with trans-TPE-based ligand LA can restrict molecular motions of the aromatic groups on TPE and exhibits better light-emitting properties. Moreover, curved SA also exhibited better fluorescence stability than isomer SB towards molecules with strongly electron-withdrawing groups. This work provides a new platform to explore the relationship between conformation and the corresponding photophysical properties.

Transition Metals In Supramolecular Chemistry written by L. Fabbrizzi and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-03-09 with Science categories.

Since the pioneering publications on coordination chemistry by Lehn and Pedersen in the late 1960s, coupled with the more orthodox interest from the transition metal chemists on template reactions (Busch, 1964), the field of supramolecular chemistry has grown at an astonishing rate. The use of transition metals as essential constituents of multi-component assemblies has been especially sharp in recent years, since the metals are prone to quick and reversible redox changes, and there is a wide variety of metal--ligand interactions. Such properties make supramolecular complexes of transition metal ions suitable candidates for exploration as light--energy converters and signal processors. Transition Metals in Supramolecular Chemistry focuses on the following main topics: (1) metal controlled organization of novel molecular assemblies and shapes; (2) design of molecular switches and devices operating through metal centres; (3) supramolecular catalysts that mimic metalloenzymes; (4) metal-containing sensory reagents and supramolecular recognition; and (5) molecular materials that display powerful electronic, optoelectronic and magnetic properties.
