This is the collector's hardback edition of Meteoric Programming for the Oric-1 The Oric-1 8-bit home computer was released in 1982 and would go on to sell more than 150,000 units in the UK alone. It was considered a rival to the popular ZX Spectrum, with its advantage being a much better keyboard than Sir Clive's rubber monster. Despite official production ceasing just two years after its launch, clones of the machine were produced in Eastern Europe well into the 1990s. This popular guide to the Oric-1 was first published in 1983 by Melbourne House. It helped many owners of the much-loved machine not only take their first steps in programming, but also introduced them to the more advanced features of the machine. To this day it remains a highly useful guide for those interested in retro games programming on the classic machine. * * * As the original publisher Melbourne House wrote: WARNING Your Oric-1 is about to become Meteoric. Now you can achieve Meteoric software performance from your micro with this collection of 30 dynamic programs, designed specifically for the Oric-1 home computer. You can test your skill with arcade action games such as Luna Landa, Eliminator, and North Sea Copter, or attempt to solve the mind stretching mathematical and educational exercises. These programs fully extend the excellent colour resolution of the Oric-1 to its maximum! The book includes many practical utilities that will enable you to really improve your own programs. These useful routines include Renumber, Machine Code Monitor, Block Line Deletion and Graphics Aid. Even if you are a beginner, you can enter all the programs yourself due to Meteoric programming's easy to understand format. Your overall knowledge of computer operation will be expanded too. Each program features an in-depth explanation of how and why it runs and illustrations of screen display back up the text to ensure you understand exactly what will be achieved. Experienced programmers who want to develop their own Meteoric programs will really appreciate all the expert hints and tips that have been included in the book. Whether you're a first timer or an old hand, you can't afford to miss the only book that will make your Oric-1 Meteoric. * * * Acorn Books is proud to present its Retro Reproduction Series, a collection of classic computing works from the 1980s and 90s, lovingly reproduced in the 21st century. From standards of programming reference no self-respecting microcomputer programmer would be without, to obscure works not found in print anywhere else, these modern reprints are perfect for any connoisseur of retro computing.

Dragon 32 Programmer S Reference Guide written by John Vander Reyden and has been published by Andrews UK Limited this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-03-31 with Computers categories.

First published in 1983, this easy-to-follow guide to the Dragon 32 gives users a complete overview of the acclaimed machine that many considered well ahead of its time. Though it was more powerful and quicker than many of its competitors, the Dragon 32 never gained the success of other 8-bit computers of the day such as the Commodore 64 or the ZX Spectrum. Despite this, the classic machine still retains a dedicated following to this day. Not only is this remastered version perfect for hobbyists and collectors, it is also a highly useful resource for those interested in programming retro games and utilities. As the original publisher Melbourne House wrote: ***** A comprehensive overview of programming the Dragon 32, covering BASIC, machine language, sound and graphics. The Dragon 32 Programmer's Reference Guide will show you how to exercise the full potential of your Dragon 32, by taking you from simple BASIC routines right through to advanced machine language programs. The book fully examines BASIC and tells you everything you need to know to use every function to its maximum. Each facility is illustrated by example programs. Many professional hints and tips are included, demonstrating the full features of the Dragon 32, especially the graphics and sound potential. For the serious programmer, a memory map is included as well as 'monitor entry points' giving more information about the Dragon 32 than has ever been published anywhere else. This book will take you far beyond the realms of standard Dragon 32 programming. ***** Acorn Books is proud to present its Retro Reproductions series, a collection of classic computing works from the 80s and 90s given a new lease of life in the 21st century. From standards of programming reference no self-respecting microcomputer coder would be without, to obscure works unavailable for many years, these modern re-prints are perfect for any connoisseur of retro computing.

Metallography And Microstructure In Ancient And Historic Metals written by David A. Scott and has been published by Getty Publications this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992-01-02 with Antiques & Collectibles categories.

David A. Scott provides a detailed introduction to the structure and morphology of ancient and historic metallic materials. Much of the scientific research on this important topic has been inaccessible, scattered throughout the international literature, or unpublished; this volume, although not exhaustive in its coverage, fills an important need by assembling much of this information in a single source. Jointly published by the GCI and the J. Paul Getty Museum, the book deals with many practical matters relating to the mounting, preparation, etching, polishing, and microscopy of metallic samples and includes an account of the way in which phase diagrams can be used to assist in structural interpretation. The text is supplemented by an extensive number of microstructural studies carried out in the laboratory on ancient and historic metals. The student beginning the study of metallic materials and the conservation scientist who wishes to carry out structural studies of metallic objects of art will find this publication quite useful.

Ocean Biogeochemistry written by Michael J.R. Fasham and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Science categories.

Oceans account for 50% of the anthropogenic CO2 released into the atmosphere. During the past 15 years an international programme, the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS), has been studying the ocean carbon cycle to quantify and model the biological and physical processes whereby CO2 is pumped from the ocean's surface to the depths of the ocean, where it can remain for hundreds of years. This project is one of the largest multi-disciplinary studies of the oceans ever carried out and this book synthesises the results. It covers all aspects of the topic ranging from air-sea exchange with CO2, the role of physical mixing, the uptake of CO2 by marine algae, the fluxes of carbon and nitrogen through the marine food chain to the subsequent export of carbon to the depths of the ocean. Special emphasis is laid on predicting future climatic change.
