The main objective of this book is to provide students, scholars, and practitioners a detailed background on the human resource management (HRM) practices in Mexico. This book provides ten distinguishing chapters focusing on the core functions of HRM in Mexico. The writing and researching for this book took almost a year (June 2010 to May 2011). Scholarly databases of ABI Global Inform, Business Source Complete, Google Scholar among several others were diligently searched for relevant articles for each chapter. A comprehensive bibliography is provided at the end of the book. Each chapter has its learning goals, discussion questions, and team activities to engage students in active learning. Each chapter also provides an implication section for multinational practitioners. The chapter on "best practices" includes qualitative interviews with the HRM leaders of the "best companies." This book has 15 tables and two appendices that provide important information on the main concepts from the various chapters.. There is paucity in the literature in obtaining consolidated information on Mexican HRM practices. This book addresses this dearth in the international literature by providing individual chapters on the different HRM practices adopted in Mexico. The information in this book provided will be beneficial for both scholars and practitioners.

Release Date : 2001

Deep Mexico Silent Mexico written by Claudio Lomnitz and has been published by U of Minnesota Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2001 with Political Science categories.

In Mexico, as elsewhere, the national space, that network of places where the people interact with state institutions, is constantly changing. How it does so, how it develops, is a historical process-a process that Claudio Lomnitz exposes and investigates in this book, which develops a distinct view of the cultural politics of nation building in Mexico. Lomnitz highlights the varied, evolving, and often conflicting efforts that have been made by Mexicans over the past two centuries to imagine, organize, represent, and know their country, its relations with the wider world, and its internal differences and inequalities. Firmly based on particulars and committed to the specificity of such thinking, this book also has broad implications for how a theoretically informed history can and should be done. An exploration of Mexican national space by way of an analysis of nationalism, the public sphere, and knowledge production, Deep Mexico, Silent Mexico brings an original perspective to the dynamics of national cultural production on the periphery. Its blending of theoretical innovation, historical inquiry, and critical engagement provides a new model for the writing of history and anthropology in contemporary Mexico and beyond. This book covers many aspects of excessive expansion of cross-border capital flows underlying the global financial crises that occurred in succession in the form of the subprime mortgage crisis, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, and the European debt crisis. Obtaining a broader picture of financial flows at the global level from various perspectives is essential to comprehensively understand the fundamental causes for a series of global-scale financial crises and to formulate effective policy responses in the future. The topics addressed here include a basic concept and overview of global liquidity in a broad sense, domestic and international credit activities of financial institutions in both advanced and emerging countries, and global demand for US dollars. Offshore bond issuance in BRICs countries, including its implications for the Chinese shadow banking sector, uncovered interest rate parity puzzle, and related policies such as capital controls are covered as well. This book is highly recommended to readers who seek an in-depth and up-to-date integrated overview of the dynamics of today’s globalized financial markets.
