Durorp English Dictionary written by and has been published by African Books Collective this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013 with Foreign Language Study categories.

Durorp-English Dictionary is probably the first attempt at compiling a comprehensive Dictionary of Durorp, the language of the people of Korup. It is a bilingual Dictionary aimed at stimulating literary interests in the study and development of Durorp as a linguistic entity in particular and promotion of Durorp literature in general. Durorp is an interesting and linguistically distinct semi-Bantu or Bantoid language spoken by a minority group of people known as Bororp or people of the Kororp ethnic group. A part of this ethnic group inhabits the Southwestern part of Cameroon while the other occupies the Southeastern tip of Nigeria. A minority group, Kororp has continued to suffer not only cultural and socio-economic shrinkage but also linguistic marginalisation characterised by an obvious erosion of some key elements of the language. Like any other language, however, Durorp has borrowings from languages such as Efik, Ejagham, and even English. This Dictionary has introduced quite a number of new but understandable words.

Children Of Deh Koh written by Erika Friedl and has been published by Syracuse University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with History categories.

The people Friedl studied are Shi'a Lurs living in the high mountains of southwest Iran. This book focuses on children and compliments her earlier work on women of the same village (see document no. 6.) The same families and names appear in both books. Beginning with pregnancy and birth, she discusses the development of children by age group and gender up to marriage. The material conveyed is personal and anecdotal, covering children's behavior and play and their relationships with each other and adults. She masterfully relates their thinking and feelings through acute observation and verbatim conversation. Rural familial dynamics and gender relations are artfully revealed.

Taken together, these comprehensive volumes offer an authoritative account of the music of Africa. One of the most prominent experts on the subject, Gerhard Kubik draws on his extensive travels and three decades of study in many parts of the continent to compare and contrast a wealth of musical traditions from a range of cultures. In the first volume, Kubik describes and examines xylophone playing in southern Uganda and harp music from the Central African Republic; compares multi-part singing from across the continent; and explores movement and sound in eastern Angola. And in the second volume, he turns to the cognitive study of African rhythm, Yoruba chantefables, the musical Kachamba family of Malaŵi, and African conceptions of space and time. Each volume features an extensive number of photographs and is accompanied by a compact disc of Kubik’s own recordings. Erudite and exhaustive, Theory of African Music will be an invaluable reference for years to come.
