Medical Practice Management In The 21st Century written by Marjorie Satinsky and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-09-18 with Medical categories.

This title includes a Foreword by John W Bachman, Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, Minnesota. Mastering the art of medical practice management requires knowledge that most physicians don't learn in medical school, residency, and fellowship training. Successful practice management in the 21st century requires physicians to understand how to organize and manage a practice, manage their finances, recruit, work with, and manage people within and outside of the practice, improve healthcare delivery and clinical outcomes, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. "Medical Practice Management in the 21st Century: The Handbook" addresses multiple aspects of medical practice management. It offers both background information and practical tools. The workbook format, supported by web-based tools, allows busy physicians to gain a basic understanding of many topics, determine strategies for their practices, and seek additional information when they want it. This guide will be ideal for both physicians who need business guidance as they begin their careers and physicians who are already in practice and want to enhance their business skills. Many physicians can't afford or choose not to hire a professional practice administrator or manager; this book will help them assume managerial responsibilities with the same level of confidence that they bring to clinical care. Physicians in academic medical centers who manage departments, programs, or research studies will also benefit. "This book is essential for any clinician planning to open a new practice or attempting to improve the quality and efficiency of an existing practice. Read and learn." - John Bachman MD, in the Foreword. "Written for the busy practitioner - clear, concise, and practical without any wasted space. I wish I had had this resource when I was starting practice. It's the bible for practice management, just as the "Washington Manual" was in earlier years." - Robert S Galvin, MD, Director of Global Healthcare for General Electric. "Important. Crosses many boundaries, covering a wide variety of topics. Guides physicians in developing the infrastructure that they need to succeed." - John Fallon, MD, Chief Physician Executive, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. "There is no better book or resource to use to develop the necessary proficiency to run a first-class, stellar practice than this. All who read this book will be able to ensure that every patient has a positive experience with your practice and will not only enjoy the experience but will tell other physicians, their family and their friends about you and your practice and thus make your practice thrive and prosper." - Dr Neil Baum, Clinical Associate Professor of Urology, Tulane Medical School, New Orleans, Louisiana. "I love the chapter on financial management. It is very complete and gives a non-business major a good grasp of complicated information." - Allen R. Wenner, MD, family medicine practitioner, West Columbia Family Medicine, South Carolina. "I like the format of the exhibits. In the chapter on financial management, the side-by-side problem/solution approach is easily understandable and lends itself to a solution oriented approach. I can spot my own practice's issues and immediately understand what to do without searching through a lot of text." - Tom Sena, MD, President of Raleigh Children and Adolescents Medicine, Raleigh, North Carolina. "Full of good material which I am actively planning to use. Extremely helpful!" - Dr Damian McHugh, President, Raleigh Emergency Medicine Associates, Raleigh, NC.

This book addresses human resource management in PSUs. The aim was to explore the Human Resource Policies of the employee separation of employees in PSUs in India. The book consists of a compilation of six chapters and an extended summary. The study in the book is based on a combination of multiple, comparative, and single-case studies of PSUs in India. The core studies were conducted by the author at 29 PSUs in 40 Cities of 18 States, The results indicate central challenges regarding HR Policies on employee separation by Termination, Suspension, Dismissal, Retirement, Voluntary Retirement Scheme, Layoff, Resignations, Non-Promotion, Physical Disability, besides other policies. The increased responsibility and pressured work environment for PSU’s employees/workers. This study was aimed at identifying certain variables related to HR policies on employee separation in PSUs in India. The study determines the effect of HR policies on the satisfaction level of employees as well as legal compliances with the impact of gender, experience, age-wise difference, type of separation. The population of the study was HR Directors, General Managers, HR Managers, and employees working in PSUs in India. There were 14100 male and female PSU employees who responded to the author. The questionnaire instrument was used for data collection from various PSUs, and the HR policies assessment was done. The author used it after getting the formal permissions from the PSUs. The study addressed the following specific objectives; the first was to survey HR Policies of employees of PSUs, the second was to study and determine the different types of HR Policies related to employee separation in PSUs in India, and the third was to survey the behavior of employees towards Voluntary /Non-voluntary Separation. The study specifically discussed the hypothesis of study mainly classified into seven hypothesis such as (1) HR Policies Related - There was no significant difference of perception about HR Policies between PSU regular and separated employee (2) HR Policies and Discrimination/ Harassment related - There was no significant difference of perception between regular and separated employees so far as HR Policies of PSU and Discrimination/ Harassment at PSU (3) Employee Separation related - There was no significant difference between regular and separated employees about HR Policies and employee separation at PSU. The author had used a comprehensive and stratified questionnaire distributed to about 15000 persons consisting of workers, supervisors, officials, and managers of PSUs, out of which, only 14275 were received back duly filled, the remaining didn’t respond in spite of repeated visits. The 175 questionnaires were rejected due to incomplete and wrong answers by respondents. There were 14100 valid questionnaires that were found valid for the purpose of the study. There were total three questionnaires, which were: (1) ESS1 - What employees Say (For regular and separated employees of PSUs) (2) ESS2 - What PSUs Says (For Director/Managers of HR/Legal Dept. of PSU), (3) ESS3 - What Govt. Dept. Says (For Govt. Dept. of Public Enterprise). The statistical tools used for analysis include Frequency, Percentages, Mean, Standard Deviation (S.D.), T-Test, and Chi-Square Test. The author is sure that the study was a fact-finding and pioneer, and motivates and stimulates further researches in this field. I wrote this book especially for Director (Human Resource), Human Resource Managers, which will certainly help them to understand the various legal aspects of HR Policies related to Employee Separation to enhance the productivity and efficiency of performance of employees in the organizations.
