MicroLEDs Devices and Systems introduces a theoretical framework, validated by experiments, in the form of a number of white-box analytic or semi-analytic mathematical models that are based on physics. It aims to assist in the design and manufacture of the best MicroLED devices for various applications, such as mobile displays, TV displays, augmented reality, and data communication systems. This resource demonstrates the importance of MicroLEDs in addressing power consumption in mobile displays, brightness in TV displays, augmented reality, and parallel optical interconnect in data centers and artificial intelligence computer systems. With the mobile display industry's revenue exceeding $50 billion in 2020 and projected to be a significant portion of the display market by 2026, the importance of MicroLED technology is highlighted in this resource. It provides models for display systems and data communication systems to help system engineers understand and assess the gaps between commercially available MicroLEDs versus what is needed for a specific system. Furthermore, the book addresses the emerging role of MicroLEDs in data communication, highlighting their potential to improve energy consumption, data rate, latency, and cost in semiconductor chip communication. This book is intended for engineers who desire to begin with physics-based intuition to design MicroLED-based systems within 80% accuracy, then follow with running experiments and more sophisticated models to capture the top 20% of design accuracy. This 80-20 approach is proven to work in many fields including the semiconductor industry.

Chromic Phenomena written by Peter Bamfield and has been published by Royal Society of Chemistry this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-08-22 with Science categories.

Chromic or colour related phenomena are produced in response to a chemical or physical stimulus. This new edition will update the information on all those areas where chemicals or materials interact with light to produce colour, a colour change, or luminescence especially in the imaging, analysis, lighting and display areas. The book has been restructured to show greater emphasis on applications where 'coloured' compounds are used to transfer energy or manipulate light in some way therefore reducing the details on classical dyes and pigments. In the past eight years, since the previous edition, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of papers and reviews being produced reflecting the growth of interest in this area. This ongoing research interest is matched by a large number of new technological applications gaining commercial value covering e.g. biomedical areas, energy, data storage, physical colour, bio-inspired materials and photonics. This book appeals to industrial chemists, professionals, postgraduates and as high level recommended reading for colour technology courses.

An Introduction To Optical Wireless Mobile Communication written by Harald Haas and has been published by Artech House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-09-30 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The use of the optical spectrum for wireless communications has gained significant interest in recent years. Applications range from low-rate simplex transmission links using existing embedded CMOS cameras in smartphones, referred to as optical camera communications (OCC), mobile light fidelity (LiFi) networking in homes, offices, urban and sub-sea environments to free-space gigabit interconnects in data centers and point-to-point long-range wireless backhaul links outdoors and in space. This exciting book focuses on the use of optical wireless communications (OWC) for mobile use cases. The book discusses existing conventional radio frequency (RF)-based wireless access technology and presents the challenges that can impact the requirements of the future wave of new wireless services in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) driven autonomous systems and machine-type communications. The relationship between visible light communications (VLC) and light fidelity (LiFi), is explored, and the major advantages of VLC and LiFi such as security and data density, and discuss existing research challenges are also introduced. Channel modeling techniques are provided for mobile multiuser scenarios, and will introduce key building blocks to achieve LiFi cellular networks achieving orders of magnitude improvements of area spectral efficiency compared to state-of-the-art. Challenges that arise from moving from a static point-to-point visible light link to a LiFi network that is capable of serving hundreds of mobile and fixed nodes are discussed. An overview of recent standardization activities and the commercialization challenges of this disruptive technology is also provided.
