Deklan Kelly comes from a family of well-known attorneys, and throughout his childhood, his parents had told him that was what he wanted to be, too. Privately, he wished he could spend his days sketching and painting the beauty of life instead of wheeling and dealing with the dregs of humanity. Sky Clarke hides behind the walls of her family's home, protecting women and children from abusive partners. She is devoted and passionate to her cause and will do anything for her clients-she'll even break the law to protect them. What she won't do is put up with annoying attorneys. After Sky finds Deklan innocently sketching on her property, the two of them are thrown together into a spiral of events that will keep them both on their toes. Will Deklan finally be able to remove the mask and be the man he truly wants to be for Sky, or will she run from the passion he wants to give her because she's afraid to remove her own mask? Masquerading at Midnight is the eleventh book in the thirteen book Celebration Series.

The Routledge Handbook of Material Religion places objects and bodies at the center of scholarly studies of religious life and practice. Propelling forward the study of material religion, the Handbook first reveals the deep philosophical roots of its key categories and then advances new critical analytics, such as queer materialities, inescapable material entanglements, and hyperobjects that explode the small-scale personal view on religions. The Handbook comprises thirty chapters, written by an international team of contributors who offer a global perspective of religious pasts and presents, divided into four thematic parts: Genealogies of Material Religion Materializing the Terms of the Study of Religion Entanglements, Entrapment, Escaping Hyperobjects, or How Ginormous Things Affect Religions In these four parts, the study of material religion is redirected towards systematic, critical interrogations of the imbrication of religious structures of power with racial, economic, political, and gendered forms of domination. From Spinoza’s political theology to African philosophies of ubuntu; from the queer materialities of Mesoamerican religion to the Satanic Temple of the United States; from Islamic love and sacrifice in human-animal entanglements to Shia militants’ attachment to weaponry; from epidemic cataclysm in Latin America to vast infrastructures and the gathering of millions in India’s Kumbh Mela, the study of material religion proves to be the study par excellence of the human condition. The Handbook is essential reading for students and researchers in religious studies, anthropology, history, and media studies, and will also be of interest to those in related fields such as archeology, sociology, and philosophy.

But in the thought experiment of forgiving a forgiving, there is something is dilemmatic and blurring. There are no ultimate good or ultimate bad sides. There is no unspeakably bad, impossible to forgive thing. There is only a god, forgiving the human souls. It is almost silly and absurd to see this action as a hurtful, disturbing and a bad thing. The god’s forgiving all human souls is really not a matter of forgiving, not at all. It is really not related to the sphere of forgiving and not forgiving, just like the occurrence of leaves of the trees falling on the soil from the trees is not something ethically bad or good. The god’s forgiving all does not belong to the dimension of forgivable-unforgivable things. But nonetheless, god’s this forgiving causes something in the heart of the human. A sense of fairness and justness is broken by this act of forgiving by god. Some souls, not all of them, now have to forgive god’s forgiving. They have to find a way to forgive something that doesn’t even belong to the realm of forgivable-unforgivable dichotomy. They have to forgive that god doesn’t hold its side of the bargain. If the other side of the bargain would not follow what is required by the agreement, then what was the point of keeping this side of the bargain, if in the end everyone would be treated the same? In the act of forgiving all, there is a violence, a violation, a trespass. This violence is two-folded. It is both about not keeping the requirements of the bargain and also about conflicting the content of it. But how can one see a forgiving (a grace, an ultimate goodness and kindness) as something within the realm of forgivable-unforgivable? The god’s forgiving is so “not-something belongs to the realm of forgiving” that it doesn’t open itself to neither forgiveness nor unforgiveness. But what about heart’s mathematics?

Fifteenth century Venice is a safe haven for the masterless dregs of the vampire world, a city where they can live without the fear of retribution for violating another’s territory.
