Das Thema Migration und Kriminalität gehört zu den klassischen und gesellschaftspolitisch brisantesten kriminalsoziologischen Untersuchungsgegenständen. Besondere Delinquenzrisiken werden vor allem bei jungen Migranten und Nachkommen von Einwanderern vermutet. Gestützt auf Dunkelfeldbefragungen bei jungen Menschen in zwei in Bezug auf Einwanderung sehr unterschiedlich strukturierten Städten geht die Arbeit möglichen Zusammenhängen zwischen Migration und Jugenddelinquenz nach. Die Analysen basieren auf einem sozialstrukturellen Delinquenzmodell, welches makrostrukturelle Faktoren, soziale Bindungen sowie den Einfluss von delinquenzbezogenen Normorientierungen und Freizeitstilen miteinander verknüpft. Als Ergebnis lässt sich festhalten, dass Delinquenz bei Jugendlichen aus Migrantenfamilien nicht durchweg weiter verbreitet ist als bei Einheimischen. Als günstig erweisen sich dabei eine hohe Bildungspartizipation, stabile familiäre und schulische Bindungen sowie ein weniger risikoreiches Freizeitverhalten, welches teilweise mit stärkeren traditionellen und religiösen Wertorientierungen zusammenhängt. Dr. Christian Walburg ist als Akademischer Rat a.Z. am Institut für Kriminalwissenschaften der Universität Münster tätig. Nach dem Studium der Rechtswissenschaften in Münster hat er als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Forschungsprojekt 'Kriminalität in der modernen Stadt' gearbeitet. Seinen juristischen Vorbereitungsdienst hat er in Berlin durchlaufen. Seine Forschungsinteressen und -schwerpunkte sind Jugendkriminalität und Jugendstrafrecht, Migrationssoziologie sowie Wirtschaftskriminalität.
