Most people feel that medical personnel put religion aside when we don the mask of our profession. The truth is, though, that's when we need religion the most--when we're face to face with death. Miracles Beyond Medicine is a book comprised of short stories that are based on actual events. The stories bring the staff of emergency rooms and surgical suites to life and prove that we are, after all, just human. These are medical histories as related by hospital personnel who have been a witness to them, either in the hospital setting or in their own lives. Medical staff members are believers because it's impossible to work with patients and not know there is a Higher Being than we mere mortals. These stories illustrate that miracles can, and do, happen to average people more often than you may realize.

Health Beyond Medicine written by Scott Paton and has been published by Healthcare Unity Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-10-01 with Alternative medicine categories.

When his infant son s life was threatened by a medical condition that the hospital physicians couldn t diagnose, chiropractor Dr. Scott Paton took matters into his own hands. Taking a chance, he decided to apply a gentle chiropractic technique that ended up restoring his baby s health. But unfortunately, these treatments are dismissed by those who reject unconventional medicine. The US ranks a distant (and disgraceful) thirty-seventh in healthcare, according the World Health Organization. The reason? Western medical practices focus on prescription medications that mask symptoms rather than address the illness. This system is dangerously eroding our health and putting children at serious risk...but Dr. Paton has an alternative solution. In his new book, Health Beyond Medicine: A Chiropractic Miracle, Dr. Paton details the five essential factors for health that, if met, can help our bodies heal themselves without the use of medications. Unlike today s healthcare, which too often masks the symptoms of disease with drugs, chiropractors offer medical alternatives that target the root causes of sickness by strengthening our own immune systems to fight disease. It is no wonder that while America spends the second highest amount worldwide on healthcare, says Dr. Paton, we rank only 24th on the list of longest life expectancy, below nations such as Andorra and Singapore! Dr. Paton believes it is time we stop swallowing the lies and the pills and start exploring successful, natural means of treatment. Now is the time to take back control of our own lives and to do the things that will guarantee a healthy, happy and secure future, he says. After all, true health comes from inside the body not from inside a bottle. Health Beyond Medicine presents a true account of: Chiropractic miracles and patients success stories The dangers and ineffectiveness of drugs and vaccines The five factors for true health How a balanced body can help balance and improve all aspects of your life Today s battle between alternative healthcare and disease-centric medicine, one of the most controversial issues today

Recognizing Miracles In Antiquity And Beyond written by Maria Gerolemou and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-04-23 with Literary Criticism categories.

In recent years, scholars have extensively explored the function of the miraculous and wondrous in ancient narratives, mostly pondering on how ancient authors view wondrous accounts, i.e. the treatment of the descriptions of wondrous occurrences as true events or their use. More precisely, these narratives investigate whether the wondrous pursues a display of erudition or merely provides stylistic variety; sometimes, such narratives even represent the wish of the author to grant a “rational explanation” to extraordinary actions. At present, however, two aspects of the topic have not been fully examined: a) the ability of the wondrous/miraculous to set cognitive mechanisms in motion and b) the power of the wondrous/miraculous to contribute to the construction of an authorial identity (that of kings, gods, or narrators). To this extent, the volume approaches miracles and wonders as counter intuitive phenomena, beyond cognitive grasp, which challenge the authenticity of human experience and knowledge and push forward the frontiers of intellectual and aesthetic experience. Some of the articles of the volume examine miracles on the basis of bewilderment that could lead to new factual knowledge; the supernatural is here registered as something natural (although strange); the rest of the articles treat miracles as an endpoint, where human knowledge stops and the unknown divine begins (here the supernatural is confirmed). Thence, questions like whether the experience of a miracle or wonder as a counter intuitive phenomenon could be part of long-term memory, i.e. if miracles could be transformed into solid knowledge and what mental functions are encompassed in this process, are central in the discussion.
