My second bookMiseries, Illusions and Hopeis a collection of few short stories I wrote in the last few years. Most of them appeared on my blogs on Facebook and Blogger. These stories are about everyday people who are working hard for themselves and their loved ones. I call these people everyday heroes. They may be illiterate or poor, but they are sincere and trustworthy. They touch the lives of others around them. Life is highly unpredictable and very complicated. It silently teaches us so much about love, intrigue, conflict, and persistence.

From Misery To Hope written by Joe Egan and has been published by Peter Lang this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010 with Africa categories.

How can one believe in a God of love amid all the evil and suffering found in the world? How does one do theology 'after Auschwitz', while vast numbers of people still have to endure violent oppression every day? This book seeks to address such questions from a standpoint informed by life in Africa, which in the face of extraordinary difficulties bears witness to Gospel hope by demonstrating forgiveness in action and promoting reconciliation. The work unfolds in two parts. In the first part, a description of the misery that characterises much of life in Africa in the recent past opens up to a theological consideration of the underlying causes and of God's response to them. In the second part, the joy which is so characteristic of life in Africa even in places of immense suffering sets the scene for detailed reflections on liturgy, memory, forgiveness and hope.

"Throughout this book, I want you to become aware of the fact that you allow misery too easily to settle into your life, and you give happiness too little chance. For that I'll have to scold you a bit, though you should be the one doing it. Are there really that many benefits to you when you suffer? I do not think so. Then why do you keep going? If you don't have an answer, I invite you to read the thoughts of a simple man who, after years of listening and observing the world around him, came to wonder: Is misery real or is it an illusion? I have selected some of the causes that lead to misery, and in each chapter I have tried to present you the aspects that few choose to explore and understand. I hope this book will help you find your own answers." -the Author

Death In Winterreise written by Lauri Suurpää and has been published by Indiana University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-01-06 with Music categories.

Lauri Suurpää brings together two rigorous methodologies, Greimassian semiotics and Schenkerian analysis, to provide a unique perspective on the expressive power of Franz Schubert's song cycle. Focusing on the final songs, Suurpää deftly combines textual and tonal analysis to reveal death as a symbolic presence if not actual character in the musical narrative. Suurpää demonstrates the incongruities between semantic content and musical representation as it surfaces throughout the final songs. This close reading of the winter songs, coupled with creative applications of theory and a thorough history of the poetic and musical genesis of this work, brings new insights to the study of text-music relationships and the song cycle.

Hope, mind and the spirit of man work when nothing works. When one doesn’t know what to do with his time, one does many things. One thinks of having an unknown companion. An unknown companion doesn’t flood you with what he knows. But you have the freedom to flood him with whatever you deem fit. You can write to him on ‘whenever-whatever’ basis. You can write to him in the true spirit of writing. You can write to him in a gloomy night to bring you moonlight. The author presents to the readers his occasional writings. It contains a few algorithms of life, and that includes the spirit of man, faith and health, psychological yoga, the wisdom of the third age. It is about the COVID time. It’s about an unvanquished mind. The seemingly delinked write-ups have a common link with the author.

Re Imagining North Korea In International Politics written by Shine Choi and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-11-20 with Political Science categories.

The global consensus in academic, specialist and public realms is that North Korea is a problem: its nuclear ambitions pose a threat to international security, its levels of poverty indicate a humanitarian crisis and its political repression signals a failed state. This book examines the cultural dimensions of the international problem of North Korea through contemporary South Korean and Western popular imagination’s engagement with North Korea. Building on works by feminist-postcolonial thinkers, in particular Trinh Minh-ha, Rey Chow and Gayatri Spivak, it examines novels, films, photography and memoirs for how they engage with issues of security, human rights, humanitarianism and political agency from an intercultural perspective. By doing so the author challenges the key assumptions that underpin the prevailing realist and liberal approaches to North Korea. This research attends not only to alternative framings, narratives and images of North Korea but also to alternative modes of knowing, loving and responding and will be of interest to students of critical international relations, Korean studies, cultural studies and Asian studies.
