Sprache ist viel mehr als ein Mittel zur Übertragung von Informationen und Gedanken. Es geht vor allem darum, bei anderen Menschen etwas zu erreichen. Wie immer geht es nicht nur die Sache selbst, sondern auch um ihre Verpackung - und das bedeutet den Einsatz von Rhetorik, den Mitteln der Redekunst - bzw. der Beeinflussung ganz allgemein. Ob es sich dabei mehr um "überreden" oder lieber um "überzeugen" handelt, das hängt vom Einzelfall ab. Man kann Menschen auch mit sprachlichen Tricks dazu bringen, das für sie Richtige zu tun. Genauso geht es aber auch darum, dass man lernt, sich gegen eine manipulative Beeinflussung mit Hilfe von Tricks zu wehren. Wer sie kennt, fällt nicht mehr darauf rein. Neben der leicht verständlichen Einführung in die Grundlagen dieser drei "Sprachhelfer" geht es um die Analyse von Gesprächssituationen: Von der Beeinflussung der Eltern am Frühstückstisch bis zu literarischen Gesprächssituationen in Kurzgeschichten oder auch Theaterstücken. Damit bekommt man auch Tipps und Hilfen, wie man dialogische Texte in Klassenarbeiten und Klausuren analysieren kann. Am Ende wird der Leser nicht mit seinen neuen Erkenntnissen allein gelassen - er bekommt die Möglichkeit, in einem Downloadbereich vieles druckfertig herunterzuladen oder sich auch mit Fragen und Anregungen an den Autor zu wenden.
