Helsinki herättää intohimoja. Mielipiteitä riittää niin puolesta kuin vastaan. Meillä on toiveita, haluja, vaatimuksia ja pelkoja suhteessa kaupunkiin. Mutta mitä tapahtuu Helsingille huomenna? Tätä pohtivat väitekirjassa muun muassa Jussi Pajunen, Anja Snellman, Stuba Nikula, Meiju Niskala ja Leo Stranius. Kaikilla 50 kirjoittajalla on erityinen suhde Helsinkiin, Miten totta heidän väitteensä ovat tänä päivänä? Entä millaisessa valossa ne näyttäytyvät 100 vuoden päästä?

Lobbauksesta on pahimmillaan tullut ruma sana, jolla tarkoitetaan oman näkökulman runttaamista ja suhmurointia. Parhaimmillaan vaikuttajaviestintä on kuitenkin päätöksenteon ja päättäjien informaation rikastamisen väline. Hyvä vaikuttajaviestintä on avointa ja läpinäkyvää kuten muukin viestintä. Annetaan vaikuttajille vihdoin puheenvuoro! Koulutukseltaan Kirsi Piha on kauppatieteiden maisteri. Hän on toiminut kokoomuksen kansanedustajana ja Euroopan parlamentin jäsenenä.

Bhagawan has announced Himself as the Divine Teacher of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness. By precept and example, through His writings and discourses, letters and conversations, He has been instilling the supreme wisdom and instructing all mankind to translate it into righteous living, inner peace, and universal love. When the Ramakatha Rasavahini, the uniquely authentic, nectarine stream of the Rama’s story, was serialised in full in the Sanathana Sarathi, Bhagawan blessed readers with a new series, which He named Bharatiya Paramartha Vahini (The Stream of Indian Spiritual Values). While these precious essays, on the basic truths that foster and feed Indian culture since ages before history began, were being published, Bhagawan decided to continue the flow of illumination and instruction under a more comprehensive and meaningful name, Sathya Sai Vahini - the Ganga from the Lotus Feet of the Lord - “The Flow of Divine Sai Grace”. This book, therefore, contains the two Vahinis that have merged in one master stream. Inaugurating these series, Bhagawan wrote for publication in the Sanathana Sarathi, “Moved by the urge to cool the heat of conflict and to quench the agonising thirst for ‘knowledge about yourself’ that you are afflicted with, see, here it comes, the Sathya Sai Vahini, wave behind wave, with the Sanathana Sarathi as the medium between you and Me.” With infinite compassion, this Sathya Sai incarnation of the Omniwill is giving millions of persons in all lands freedom from disease, distress, and despair, narcotics, narcissism, and nihilism. He is encouraging those, who suffer gloom through wilful blindness, to light the Lamp of Love in order to see the world and the Lamp of Wisdom to see themselves. “This is a tantalising, true-false world. Its apparent diversity is an illusion. It is One, but is cognised by the maimed, multiple vision of humans as Many,” says Bhagawan. This book is the twin Lamp He has devised for us.

Turnout In Germany written by Markus Steinbrecher and has been published by Nomos Verlagsgesellschaft this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with History categories.

Voter turnout in Germany has been declining since the end of the 1980s. European and Landtag representative assembly elections are particularly affected by this development. The all-time low was a turnout of 43 percent in the European Parliament election in 2004. The causes for this dramatic decline are a regular topic in public debates. This book analyzes the participation of Germans in European, Bundestag (Parliament), and Landtag elections since 1979. With its broad research design, the book integrates the most important approaches of empirical electoral research. In the first part of the book, turnout is described within its geographic and social context by means of data from official statistics. However, individual attitudes and motives of the voters are even more important for the interpretation of declining turnout and are thus examined in the second part of the book. The weakening of social norms and political dissatisfaction has dramatic consequences for turnout and cannot be

Last Days At Hot Slit written by Andrea Dworkin and has been published by MIT Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-03-05 with Social Science categories.

Selections from the work of radical feminist author Andrea Dworkin, famous for her antipornography stance and role in the feminist sex wars of the 1980s. Radical feminist author Andrea Dworkin was a caricature of misandrist extremism in the popular imagination and a polarizing figure within the women's movement, infamous for her antipornography stance and her role in the feminist sex wars of the 1980s. She still looms large in feminist demands for sexual freedom, evoked as a censorial demagogue, more than a decade after her death. Among the very first writers to use her own experiences of rape and battery in a revolutionary analysis of male supremacy, Dworkin was a philosopher outside and against the academy who wrote with a singular, apocalyptic urgency. Last Days at Hot Slit brings together selections from Dworkin's work, both fiction and nonfiction, with the aim of putting the contentious positions she's best known for in dialogue with her literary oeuvre. The collection charts her path from the militant primer Woman Hating (1974), to the formally complex polemics of Pornography (1979) and Intercourse (1987) and the raw experimentalism of her final novel Mercy (1990). It also includes “Goodbye to All This” (1983), a scathing chapter from an unpublished manuscript that calls out her feminist adversaries, and “My Suicide” (1999), a despairing long-form essay found on her hard drive after her death in 2005.

This book is the first general survey in English of the history of the Finnish church. It is based on recent research, but written in a clear and accessible style. It presents a continuous narrative of the church in Finland, from the arrival of Christianity to the present day.00While the church in Finland developed essentially along the same lines as in other Nordic countries, there are some unique aspects deriving from Finlands location between East and West. Some distinctively Finnish responses to processes of modernization and secularization have left their mark on Finnish culture and society.00Markku Heikkilä is Emeritus Professor of Practical Theology at the University of Helsinki, and Simo Heininen is Emeritus Professor of Church History at the University of Helsinki.

Power Of Reading written by Frank Furedi and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-10-08 with History categories.

Here is a natural companion to Christopher Booker`s bestselling The Seven Basic Plots (Continuum) and John Gross`s seminal study The Rise and Fall of the Man of Letters (Weidenfeld and Nicolson). The most eminent cultural and social historian Frank Furedi presents an eclectic and entirely original history of reading. The very act of reading and the choice of reading material endow individuals with an identity that possesses great symbolic significance. Already in ancient Rome, Cicero was busy drawing up a hierarchy of different types of readers. Since that time people have been divided into a variety of categories- literates and illiterates, intensive and extensive readers, or vulgo and discreet readers. In the 19th Century, accomplished readers were praised as `men of letters` while their moral opposites were described as `unlettered`. Today distinctions are made between cultural and instrumental readers and scorn is communicated towards the infamous `tabloid reader`. The purpose of this book is to explore the changing meanings attributed to the act of reading. Although it has an historical perspective, the book`s focus is very much on the culture of reading that prevails in the 21st Century. There are numerous texts on the history of literacy (Hoggart), yet there is no publication devoted to the the history of readers and their relationship with wider culture and society. It is thus a fascinating insight into understanding the post-Gutenberg debates about literacy in a multimedia environment with such a strong emphasis on the absorption of information. Taking a cue from George Steiner, Furedi argues vigorously for the restoration of the art of reading- every bit as important as the art of writing.
